If you will received a "bounced" email. Delete it.
It contains a virus. IF you click the attachment to see what email bounced, you will be infected.

Subject - New Virus called W32/Mydoom@MM

Audience - All Users

Description - There is a new virus called W32/Mydoom@MM which has recently appeared. End users will recieve email from various senders with the different subject lines including:

- Error
- Status
- Server Report
- Mail Transaction Failed
- Mail Delivery System
- hello
- hi

The body of the email also varies and so do the types of attachments. If you open one of the attachments, Notepad will open a file with random unreadable characters. Your registry will also be updated with files. The virus is then spread via email to other machines.

Saw that earlier this week. Have been doing Live Update whenever I get on the computer at home . Hopefully Nortons will have the fix.

Infected my computer on Tuesday at work. Had to have a technician come out, but luckily Norton caught it. The tech said it was trying to get into the server when she got there. A nasty one for sure. Here's more info:

I am getting RETURNED mail from people I haven't written to in 4 or 5 months.

Could they be fake??

I think I will wait a little before opening them!

If you send me mail and don't get an answer before 2006,this is why!!!

They probably got the virus and had your email in their address book...it will then forward it to everyone in their address book. So yeah, dont open it.

if people were smart enough to run current anti virus software this problem would not be nearly as big.

If you don't have any you can get a 1 year subscription from Microsoft and Computer Associates.

The girl in our office at work yesterday morning turned the PC's on at work and had 600 e-mails to delete waste of peoples time. Here at home I have AOL 9.0 and aol scans all e-mail before I get it and removes any virus and I also have the latest norton with auto update every time I'm on line
