I'm driving home in the pouring rain, right? The entrance lane onto I-30 is VERY short, ending abruptly in a lovely concrete partition; there is a car behind me; as I enter the freeway, there appears an 18-wheeler beside me COVERING me with water.....I can't see a damthing....I KNOW the entrance lane is about to end, but how much farther? ....can't slam on the brakes....car behind will hit me....can't change lanes cuz 18-wheeler is right there....
Fortunately, I managed to slow down JUST enough for the truck to pass and without the car behind hitting me.....if I hadn't been driving this stretch every day and had a general idea of just how short that lane is, I woulda been up $hit creek and into that concrete!!

I always say, you set a similar satisfaction from driving in a snow storm and driving down the 1/4 mile, you get a sense of accomplisment...but in two different ways (and speeds!!!) Posted by 30thSSNerd (Member # 2155) on :

Yessir! A beater for when it's rainy, when it's windy, when it's above 80 degrees, and when there's an occasional snowflake.....
It's killin' my soul to drive him every day, rain or shine, and to put all those miles on him (50/day)....but....$hit happens!!

I was going to say that little incident probably took ten years off your life. But since you are a woman, I am sure any mention of aging before your time might put me in the dog house with you.
So I guess I won't mention it.

Contrary to popular belief F-Bodies don't!!!!
1=Shrink when exposed to water [or snow].
2=Shrivel like vampires when exposed to sun.
3=Blow away if driven on windy days.
4=Develop Asthma if driven in dust.
5=Catch pneumonia if driven in sub 50F weather.
6=Get devoured by the earth if driven on gravel.
7=Don't stop working if driven more than 100 miles a week. Very glad you are okay,it helps knowing the territory !!!

You ever see a set of Yokahama A008R's. Might as well be slicks. And those bald Kumo's I got on the back aren't much better. I wonder why only the backs are bald.....Hmmm?

Yes,everywhere except the snow !!!
And I deliver with it nearly everyday,on weekends I throw the slicks in the back[1 rear seat,1 T-Top well]the jack and all the others implements of destruction[along with the 27 8 X 10 colored glossy picture.......]and head off to the races 150 miles each way.
It's not perfect but it will do 12.50s on the track and 160 on the highway!!! Posted by cytruffle (Member # 1733) on :
