I like themm but i would have to have the black ones.. Posted by SS_CarGuy (Member # 2065) on :
I'd like to see a picture of the whole front end of the car. I could probably make a better judgement call that way. They probably look OK and I don't think they look like rice either but I don't know if I like them any better than the stock ones. With three lights, how do the high/low beams function? Have you noticed an improvement in the illumination at night?

I don't think they are rice at all. I like the look but it isn't a must-do mod for me. I wish they incorporated the halo around the lights instead of in the center but overall I like them. To me, the look is a little understated, similar to the export "candycorn" lights where there is quite a difference in the appearance yet many people would think it was stock or wouldn't even notice at all.
With your TT kit, not many will be seeing your headlights anyway.

I don't think they're necessarily "rice" ........... but given just that corner shot, I would have to say I don't care for them ......... sorry Posted by Hawkeye (Member # 88) on :
To me lights are about performance not looks.
Do they offer superior lighting? If they do then I like them, if not, then it's a personal thing and I'd like to see them live to decide! Posted by Orange 01 SS (Member # 1700) on :
I think they'd look a little better if you painted the headlight bucket black between the light and the rubber (unless that's a reflection). Posted by cytruffle (Member # 1733) on :
Rice? Nice? Who cares?!? I think they're a great expression of your own personal taste and style and I know you are very proud of them! Posted by Mike Bonte (Member # 1892) on :
Off topic, but where did you get that hoodscoop grill insert?
Posted by Hawkeye (Member # 88) on :
A few years back Mike Grasso arranged a GP on the grille inserts. He found a place in California that would chrome the stock plastic ones. That's what I have on mine.
You could have shipped your stock one to him, or he would supply a new one from the GM dealer and have it done. I don't know the name of the place however.

Looks OK from a distance, but am I right in thinking that the halo is on a framework between the standard reflector molding and cover? With the light from the low beam shining through the two outer apertures (apart from what gets masked by the frame)?

I've been looking at those. but would love to see a front view of them. plus if you could take a pic of them at dusk/night, so we could see what they look like on.
Now, does that halo light up like the new BMW's? And therefore is lit up like a DRL when it is light out?
By the way, for those interested, you can get that chrome grill insert from www.afterthoughtsauto.com
