Ipicked a bad weekend to come home from college, because as we were driving toward central Texas, we heard plenty of reports about predictions for snow, which we dismissed (In February in Texas, it doesnt get cold enough for a jacket, let alone for water to freeze).
Well, the predictions for snow were right. It was so bad, services shut down here in parts of central Texas. The roads were too dangerous to drive on, and central texas was completely unprepared for this disaster of biblical preportions. The snow fell in one night, and covered the landscape, coating cars, homes, and everything in sight. After the initial panic, I am proud to report that no one was seriously injured or killed during the freak snow-storm that made the roads undrivable and shut down the local economy, which is a blessing.
I dont see how you northerners do it. Im just glad we didnt have more than an 1/2 of an inch of snow. If it had snowed more, things would have gotten really bad.
1/2 of an inch, and made the whole place look fantastic. Only the 3rd time in my life I have seen snow in my home state of Texas.
Just jerkin the snow-chains of all you northern-dwellers. Funny thing is, there was snow in the morning, by 2pm, it was warm enough for a t-shirt and shorts. Gotta love good ol' Tejas.

your pictures look suspiciously like someone drew a red X in the snow. Posted by 2002Z4CSS (Member # 1393) on :
You can have the snow. Around my neighborhood there still is at least 8" of the white junk. We can finally start to see the pavement in the street. I had to shovel off the roof of the house Saturday and remove ice dams that were 6" thick. It just does not seem to be melting away fast enough.
