I was told to just pretty much pull/yank the factory grille off. Now, its' only hooked on with tabs, and they can break. (I tried, and yes, I broke 2, so i stopped, and left it alone.) The other option is to remove the entire FRONT bumper and unhook them from behind. I'm sure others have info on installing teh other grilles, eg. SS or bowtie or aftermarket grilles.

To take off the factory grille-just yank on it. Its on with two tabs that hook into the sides-unhook them first and just yank. There are speed nuts on the retainer posts that'll just fall off. That's how SLP did all of the cars in Canada. So what if the tabs break? You're not going to use that again.

What grille are you talking about? If its the SLP, it should have instructions with it-if you didn't get them,call NJ for a copy. Its very well deatiled.

I have an SLP grille which I installed myself. It's no big deal to remove the old and install the new. You can use Jeff's recomendation for removal of the old grille. You have to yank pretty hard though so don't be too concerned about that.
For the install, you have to drill holes in the fascia and then just put in several "push pins" thru the grille to hold it on place. For the install, what I suggest you do is put masking tape on the fascia directly behind the holes on the SLP grille. Then, while holding the grille in place take a stubby pencil and mark the out line of the holes to be drilled in your front fascia right on the masking tape. The only other suggestion I can give you is to get the angle right when you are drilling since you want the push pins to go in at the correct angles. All in all its very simple. Just take your time.

As most stated, you can just 'yank' off the stock grill. It is VERY easy.
...HOWEVER to make life 'a little' simpler. Here's what you could (should) do: 1.) Consider masking off the nose area of the car surrounding the grill (just as a precaution). 2.) 'un-snap' the two 'hook-like' tabs on the left and right of the grill. (push grill edge toward the center of the car and pull forward. (They come out real easy.) Now, underneath... 3.) 'un-snap' the 'air-deflector' piece that snaps to the lower portion of the nose piece. (3-4 black plastic snaps / 'push-pins') 4.) unscrew the 3 (or is it 4) 'speed nuts' from the plastic "studs" on the back of the grill. (they are up in there, but you CAN get them pretty easy). ...NOW you are ready to "yank". 5.) There are 3-4 black "studs" (similar to those you just took the speed nuts off) on the (TOP) back of the grill that are tough to get to. The yank method works fine (short of removing the entire nose of teh car). From the front of the car, ...get a 'feel' for where they are, get a firm grip on the grill, ...and yank! . Sounds primitive, but a quick swift pull, and the grill will come out unharmed... . One word of advice when installing the SLP grill: drill the holes perpendicular to the surface you are drilling into so the 'barbed plastic pins' seat flush to the grill surface.
...the SLP grill is pricey, ...but an awsome mod
