Sure! I'm sitting here contemplating a "winter storm warning" for southern and central Ontario this weekend (snow and freezing rain) and I gotta read about you heading off to VIR?!? You lucky SOB!!! (can you see me drooling?) I'm about to book my 1st lapping day here on Apr. 4 and have been wondering if I ought to put a set of Blizzaks on for the event! [Eek!]
Have great time and be safe - I wanna hear ALL about it!!

Best regardSS,

Elie

... it means that I may decide NOT to drive up to Casino Rama (1.5 hrs. north of Toronto) to see Gene Pitney in concert on Sat. night!!) Town Without Pity etc...
This is my Valentine's gift to my wife of 31 years! (she had a crush on Gene Pitney when she was a teeny-bopper in the 60's!) [Big Grin]

Best regardSS,

Elie

Morning all ............ TGIF for sure ............ lets get this one over with [Wink]

The picture(s) of the day .............. going fast on a drag strip is an awesome rush ............ but I can tell you from experience that you get an instant of fear every time you grab the ring and prepare to "hit the silk" ............. you say an instantaneous prayer that all is well, packed properly, and you will get a clean deployment.

Of course I'm referring to the drag chute ........... the first chutes used were surplus military drag chutes used on military aircraft during the late '40's and early '50's ........... they were monstrous items and could jerk your brains out your nose .......... there were even a couple of cases that cars were literally jerked apart by the opening impact

 -

When Simpson came up with the cross form chute he did the racing world a big favor ....... they were softer, lighter, and were easier to pack ............. but you still had to "drive into them" ........... let off the throttle, gently tap the brakes, and then deploy the chute ............ still can get you for about -4G's though ........ that's what ended Joe Amato's career ........ 25 years of chute impact was pulling the corneas and retinal tissue away from his eyes

No snow or rain falling here - so far. Nova Scotia got hit with a 36" snowfall yesterday. [Eek!] They're calling it a weather bomb.

Good afternoon. Nice today so far, but it is supposed to get worse.....much worse as Elie pointed out.

Snow later today and ALL weekend. I WAS going to go out to the local race track on Sunday. A local club is holding a winter Solo II event, but not now.... [Frown]
