Last week I picked up a Reddy Heater Propane Construction Convection Heater model # RCP200V along with a 30lbs propane tank. This thing kicks out some serious heat!! It starts at 100,000btu`s to 200,000 btu`s. My buddy said I had hell in my 2.5 garage!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] I looked around for a smaller one but everyone was sold out. I just bought a brand new propane Reddy Heater since my 18 year old kerosene Reddy heater took a dump.I gave that one to Matt. Home Depot had plenty of the 40,000 BTU heaters in stock and so did Sears. These heaters really use a ton of propane. That 30LB propane bottle won't last long.I think the kerosene heater was less costly to run but the propane is much cleaner heat. Can you hear yourself talk with that huge heater on? [Smile]

Sonds like something my friend would need to heat his basement. He just moved into this one place and is friggin cold down there to play pool!! [Eek!] But I'm sure they are on the pricey side compared to ceramic heaters. [Roll Eyes]

A friend of mine has 2 that he heats the shop (40X60)they work great.FYI Fleet Farm sells an inline thermostat, really works good. Keeps the temp right where you set it. No screwing around turning it on/off yourself to control temp. [Wink]

I have already refilled my tank. I didn`t think to stop by Sears. Home Depot on Ford only had the large ones and I needed one so I can finish detailing my Z for the Autorama.

How long did that heater run on a full bottle? My 40,000 BTU will run maybe 6-8 hours. The box said 8-14 hours but it got no where near that. Yours being bigger will empty that bottle even quicker. How loud is it?

It`s not really loud but you know it`s there. Reddy Heaters says you are supposed to use a 40 to 100lb propane tank. I`m using a 30lb one. It lasted for a long time. I was in my garage for 2 two days last week and it didn`t use all of the propane. It was starting to get some frost so I had it refilled. [Smile]

You had that running constantly for 2 days and still had propane left? Wow.There must be something wrong with mine then because I only used it for maybe 15-20 minutes at a time and in no time the full bottle was gone.Maybe I will return it after the winter.
