I finally got my '68 'Vette sold. Didn't get as much out of it as I wanted but that's the way the investment crumbles.

Now I'm starting my search for a 2000-2002 SS convertible. I'm hoping to find a decent mileage, automatic, stock, in just about any color but black.

My black SS will now become the less practical, but fun (as in fast) hobby car.

I swear I will not mod the new one once I get it...I will not mod the new one....I will not mod the new one....wellll, maybe just a set of Don's SFC's....yeah, but that's it.

I wish I knew you were selling it. I don't get on this site all that much, well I mean I don't post much but I'm always looking to buy fun cars.

Too bad you did not want a 6 speed. My son's friend wants to sell this 2000 Sebring Silver SS vert.It did have the SLP Dual-Dual exhaust.

If you'd settle for a coupe. Mark wants to sell
his 35th LE. Coupe, auto, stock except for the
SLP Loudmouth. Winter stored, with approx.
8,000 miles. Wants the money to finish building
his house. Imagine that!

The auction has ended, but the car is still available, as I looked at it on Sunday!

SS/LE in Lubbock

Is a vert, SS/LE, auto, looks nice. If you would like me to check on it further, I will be glad to.

I have not driven my 2001 Z06 once since 01-02-2004, the day the SS came "home".

I think we all need to encourage Randy to get an unmolested convertible with no SFC's or a STB.

Randy I have officially started looking for your next car.
Sebring Silver that's the color I want for my Convertible

Hey folks!

Thanks for all the replies! I knew I had the best group of SS contacts here with possible leads on a good car. I've really got my heart set on an auto/convertible. My 'Vette was a ragtop and even though SS #98 (1999) has t-tops, it just isn't the same. And Austin traffic has gotten to the point that I'm ready to cave on the tranny part. I haven't owned an auto since my '76 TA, which I sold 25 years ago.

Millie, thanks for the Cadillac offer. I'd probably take you up on that but I broke the feather on my floppy hat when I got the the new 8" heels put on my saddle shoes. (Can anyone say Huggy Bear?)

POFOMCO (seriously), when you looked at that 35th LE, did he say what he wanted for it? The Auction closed pretty high and the reserve still wasn't met. PM me if you'd like.

Bob, "Black is beautiful!!". Couldn't agree more! Got one, and I won't ever get rid of it. Just wish it wasn't so dang hard to keep clean.

Don..or is it Dan? Beverly keeps confusing me on this. I'll be getting back to you on the right color for the SFC, STB, and tunnel brace. I do expect them to be signed so that I can get the THE picture this year at BG.

Doesn't seem too high to me. I got $27.5K for my 2000 coupe with almost 20K miles last fall.

I didn't mean that was too high. I'm just curious about what the reserve was and what he really wants for it.

From what I've seen around here though $27.5K for a 2000 would be phenomenal, but I know that yours was REALLY nice, Mark.

[Big Grin] Amen, on the traffic situation in Austin, as I tried to drive around a little in December 2003, while I attended a conference.

The reserve is typically high on auction like this, hoping to bid the price up as far as possible.... The car has some minor blemishes, but it is an SLP car, with the SLP stuff included.

The current loan value on the 2002 SS/LE is around 22K (coupe) and 24K for the (vert). Of course the banks don't care about the SLP add-ons or if it's an SS. So, that is the way I judge the fair market value... Loan value, plus the add-ons it would cost to replicate the same car.

I paid 26K for my coupe in December. My coupe has every factory option available and every SLP option. 33K sticker, 5K SLP sticker, plus 5K add-on mods, with 10K mileage.

So, I guess I did OK, but I really wanted THIS car, this SS/LE, and so the price seemed OK. I would have to spend 40(+)K to get the same car if I ordered it new.

As a side, this car kicks the $@!# out of my 01 ZO6!!!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
