I'm really curious about gauging interest on setting up a chat room for the "Back Porch". One or two of the other message boards I frequent have this in place with Yahoo (a 10 sec. software download) and it seems that a good approach is to have a weekly time designated for participants to "meet" in the room, or whenever somebody calls a "meetin'". (Thursday nights at 8:00 pm, Friday nights at 9:00 pm - whatever...) The "Back Porch" seems to be a very close-knit group with a very positive feeling of cameraderie resulting from the personal contact at BG and other events - not to mention this message board! Realistically though, we only have the opportunity to meet in person (as a group) but once a year at BG so I'm thinkin' that this could be a whole lot of fun (notwithstanding Millie's ability to type fast ) I don't have a clue how to set this up, but I'm guessing that this gang could have a real "hoot" with this... Whaddaya'll think?
Best regardSS,
Elie

Elie ,
I can help you set this up on a Yahoo group site or a MSN group site. I have both set up for my club ,Tri State Camaro Club. I'm sure you've seen where I've posted the chat sessions here on the Back Porch for my club. It is a great way to meet Camaro people plus also a way to put a face to a nick name you see them at the National shows. Tri State Camaro Club has grown to be over 300 members starting with 7 orginal members that came to Tri State via USCC chat room. We they were bought out to WCA , WCA disolved the chat room and I started Tri State to have a chat room for us to meet at. There for 4 years straight we met almost every night talking Camaros. Now I post Special Notices to the members when we have an organized chat. Please feel free to contact me email if you need help setting something up ,

yes, she just wishes she was L337 like the rest of us.
Bwahahhaa
Seriously: Why not a chat room on AOL instant messenger? The vast majority of us have that anyway, and it has an excellent chat utility. Me and some of hte other members have evening chats there quite often.
