A guy down the road from me has a 70' Vettte he's thinking of selling. It is a 454/M4 with the side pipes and a vert (removeable top)? The body is rough, spider cracks. and the interior need lots of work. the motor has Keith Black pistons & some other work done, not sure what.
Just wondering if this would be something to go after. How collectable is this car,& whats the currant market for this vette ?
Haven't looked at e-bay yet or any other place either, just thouth i'd post here first and see what you guys thought. He's gonna ask 15k for it, but thats not a firm price. the car sounds great and runs good, just needs alot of cosmetic work.
Thanks for any info.

I would imagine that a 454 4 speed Vette ,if all numbers matching would be worth a lot more than a 350 powered Vette of the same year. What does the guy want for it? [Smile]

I ran into a site a while back that has production breakdowns for every year. Its Corvette Page . That should at least give you an idea how rare or not it may be. Looks like the 454 was about as common as the 350/350 for that year. The 350/370 (LT1) had the lowest #s.

Thanks for the info guys, forgot to mention it's a Stingray, i did some quick checking on e-bay last nite and the 350 motors around that year are all asking about the same price of $15k, some more, some less, but i didn't see a BB with the factory sidepipes anywhere...I'll check out the web site, thanks for the tip. I sold my '68 Corvette Convertible about three weeks ago for 12K. I think we could have gotten another thou or so but the guy that was selling it for me messed up (and that was reflected in his commission). The body was in really good shape and the interior was good. However it was FAR from a numbers matching car. It had a built TPI motor and TH700R tranny. Not sure if that helps or not, just my .02 worth.
