Does anyone have any information or experience (good or bad) with Toshiba laptops? I am currently in the market for a new laptop and was looking at this brand. Specifically looking at the Satellite P25 model.

Don't know about your particular model, but Toshiba's have been pretty good overall. My brother has one and it works well. Check out www.computers.com, www.pcworld.com, and www.pcmag.com for some reviews.

I love my HP lapper! I am on my second one! My son took over the first one, so I had to buy me a new one! I do not even use the desktop anymore. I lie in bed at night and do all of my webbing like right now! ha ha

I have a Toshiba Satellite 5000 right now. It has not given me an ounce of trouble in the almost two years that I have had it, and it gets used daily.

I have had four or five Toshiba notebooks and they have all been excellent with absolutely no problems, breakdowns, issues, etc.

Toshiba's have a good rep in the industry. I have had extensive use of IBM ThinkPads and my experiences vary, but overall, not too bad. Have not been too happy with Dell laptops.

Sizzle - Dell Really? I have two Dell laptops and I love them. They have been great. They out lived 2 Compaqs and a Gateway.

They are a little on the heavy side, but they have been great. I haven't had a Toshiba yet, but I would recommend Dell or Sony!

I have been very happy with my Dell. 5 years old and still just as good as my wife's brand new Dell laptop.

If you're going to buy a computer (cant really 'build' a laptop) I would reccomend DELL for both home and laptop PC's. Great reputation and quality adn will last long.

I just had bad experiences supporting Dell laptops. Their customer service was good enough, just had many of the same problems on every Dell laptop we had at our site.

I usually recommend Dell's to people at work looking for a home desktop. Can't beat the service and the bundles.

We have around 50 IBM ThinkPad's where I work now. Every now and then the older ones my toss a drive, but other then that the major problem is people spilling drinks on them [Smile]

I love my Sony VAIO laptop. Its the PCG-NVR23 model.

I've had it about a year and a half, and can't remember having any trouble with it at all. Sometimes I leave it on overnight (not on purpose)and it still lives. Of course I did get one of those Targus notebook cooler thingies. It keeps the notebook at low temperatures at all times. This is my third Sony VAIO.... I can't say the first model was great,...the second was better... but this one rules. There was nothing wrong with the second one,..I just wanted a new one, just cause I wanted one with a good graphics card.

P.S. I do have to say something about the first one I had though.... I drenched it in soda at one point.... I mean when I turned it over,..the soda just kept spilling out. After a day of drying, I turned the sucker on.. and it worked no problem. [Eek!]

I'm with you on the Dell laptops. I would never buy one with my money. My money would go to IBM for a laptop. Dell for a desktop if I did not build my own.
