Here's my photos. Theres some of Hatteras Village where Hurricane Isabel hit the hardest. I had not been down there since they built Rt12 that was washed away. There's alot of spots where I knew of business that were there that are now just completely gone

I love the Ocracoke Lighthouse...makes for great pics, thats for sure! Corolla is also very pretty since its all brick! Man, you make me wanna go back down there again!!
The only one we havnet visited is Hatteras, cuase its so far down south. WE usually stay up in Corolla.
What ever happened to that new inlet the hurricane created the other year?? New bridge? Filled in? I forgot about that...

Great pic's. Thanks for sharing.
They brought back a lot of great vacation memories. It was interesting to see that the people who live on the east side of the OBX plough & shovel sand from their roads & driveways, just like we shovel snow up North (it's just not as cold! ).

On may 15, I am going on a car cruise with my car club of the cape cod lighthouses..even rental cars welcome as we have over 17 states involved.. (First Time we did this and it's a hit already)

Now if you saw Ocracoke you had to have passed through Hatteras/Buxton. You must be talking about Cape Lookout which is the furthest one south on the Outer Banks They filled in the new inlet and made a new road there. I've been to Cape Lookout and really like that one since its on it's own island with no houses..electric etc.

Thanks. I would also like to go to Maine where there is 68 lighthouse to go see! We only traveled to Richmond on I-95 so it wasnt that bad. And on the way back we didnt encounter any slow traffic....back ups etc at all!

Michelle, your pictures seem very low contrast and lacking in (for lack of a better term) punch, doesn't seem right for you. Change something about the camera or experimenting with different light metering?

Thanks for the compiliments . Well I dont see what you're talking about unless it's the low light ones. The camera is on the same settings as usual...havent touched them. As far as punch? Not much color going on this time of the year down there plus the light levels are different. In the fall there was still some green...march there isnt much color like I said. Also it was slightly overcast both Saturday and Sunday.

Ohhhh yesss!!! I'm sorry..TIs teh checkered Lighthouse! I've been to Hatteras. Ocracoke is the furthest south we've been. First time I was on a ferry as well!
Abotut eh light issues, it is probably due to the overcast skies. With no direct sunlight, no light will be "bouncing" off objects, however dull the surfaces may be. Londoners? I LOVE the sound of that!!!

Well Dan Im a Pennsylvania native..lived there all my life until 3 years ago in Chester County. Yes the overcast times had an effect on my photos and due to the fact it's March.

I don't think it's your eyes. It appears that many of them were taken very late in the day. This causes a cool effect caused by lack of color and contrast. Look at the difference between the horse with the red and white stripes and the close up of the sea gull. Even with the red and white stripes the horse has less warmth than the gull.
Please don't take this as a criticism. These are great picts. that evoke an emotional response. I can almost feel the cool evening breeze blowing acrossed the sand dunes.

Well I've been doing photography for 16 years now and have had some appear in magazines and even sold some. I dont take it as criticism to what you said. Mike on the other hand....eh..
The one of the horse was taken around 10am or so. The others all different times. Ocracoke ones were taken around 6:16 Just a couple minutes after sunset. We were just a little too late. Now compare these taken in November. again the light levels/angle of the sun is different.
