I got back from Bondurant's Hi-Perf Driving School last night. I really don't know how to describe it other than FREAKIN' FANTASTIC!!!

I've been interested in hi-perf driving since I was about 12. (Yes, I tried heel and toeing on a Schwinn Sting Ray.....still have the scars to prove it) but I learned more in two days at Bondurant's than I've been able to figure out on my own in 35 years.

My first indication of just how great an experience this was going be happened Monday morning as I was registering at the counter. I felt a hand on my shoulder, turned around, and a smiling, older gentleman held out his hand and said, "Hi, I'm Bob Bondurant." He also made the rounds through all of the classrooms with his dog Rusty, just to meet everyone.

The professionalism of Bob's staff is just incredible! They load you up with information in the classroom and then take you right out to the track to practice. Education has never been so much fun! I was pretty lucky because I was in the Z06 class and we had the Chief Instructor, Mike McGovern, for our sessions. Talk about patience!! The guy was great, as was the whole organization.

I'm starting to save up for my next trip.

Thanks to everyone for your advice in my earlier post about this. It really helped. (And yes, Millie, I kept my eyes opened and that really helped too).

I'd 'specially like to thank the Fbodfather for helping me get this set up (this was the package from last year's BG auction).

And for everyone...I wholeheartedly recommend a trip to Phoenix for this incredible training.

I am glad to see you had a good time. Sounds fun, but you shouldn't have made it sound so good. That may have just bumped the auction up another grand for next year.

I have always wanted to attend one of these schools but never had that much extra cash to do so. Sounds like a great time. [Smile]

Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoyed it. How about a few more specifics about the training. Any skidpad? Teach you about going where you look, that kind of thing. Sounds great!!

never knew that going to school could be so
much fun!

Glad you had a great time and was able to learn
at the same time. I'm almost ready for another
round somewhere. May be this summer will start
planning for a fall of '04 trip.

Randy...glad you had a great time....and hope you will be able to use what you learned in your everyday driving.

It's amazing how many times I've heard several people talk about "thank God I took that course or I would have (fill in the blank)."

I'll certainly pass your comments on to Bob and the Gang at the school
