did a search today on barret Jaskson website to see what the Gm cars brought. Here's a couple that I found, didn't have all of them listed yet.
Vin#2 $55,080.00 98 Corvette pace car $97,200.00 95 Camaro RS F1 $18,900.00 86 Corvette pace car $86,400.00

Did anyone see these cars sell? I switched channels during the race and saw the tail end of the "GM Collection" going across the block. I didn't see much...a couple of olds pace cars and some SUVs. I saw the 85 IROC approaching the block when they cut away for another 7 minute commercial break. The IROC was skipped on TV. Posted by 2002Z4CSS (Member # 1393) on :
I would thought VIN 2 may have gotten more money considering the History behind that Camaro.

Hey Greg, could you explain again why #2 is so special when compared to ours? Also, on a side note...what is your vanity plate...I gotta go renew my plates and I want the MI Brickyards to be common.

Ditto.............I would have thought it would have gone for a higher price. Even more so it should have gone to Scott. Posted by 2002Z4CSS (Member # 1393) on :

That would be too cool if you were the new owner. Posted by 2002Z4CSS (Member # 1393) on :

Kevin, VIN 1 and VIN 2 were not orginally part of the 45 Brickyard 400 Camaros that were numbered. They both did see track time at the Brickyard 400 race. I saw many of the Brickyard 400's at Camaro Superfest in 2001 and my wife and I even drove your #43 when it had less than 800 miles on it.VIN 1 and VIN 2 Camaros did not even have the Brickyard 400 logos on them at Camaro Superfest.Back then VIN 2 did not even have the CME exhaust on it. VIN 1 and VIN 2 were used to unvail the 35th Anniversary LE Camaro at various shows. So not being numbered is strange but they both have a unique history. I guess Howard would be the person to ask why they were never numbered.Another fact is most other Brickyard 400 events, there were a lot more Festival Cars produced than ours for some reason.
There are a few of us here in Michigan that own a 35th Anniversary LE Brickyard 400. All that I talked to agreed to have their licence plate read simular to mine, with just the last numbers changed. We can only use a max 7 digits or letters. This is what we came up with on the white licence plate. Car #4 BRKYD 4 Car #17 BRKYD17 Car #22 BRKYD22
And if Smitty ever actually starts to drive #20 he will have BRKYD20. Right now he still has not even registered his Brickyard 400 with the Secretary of State.

Really... I'm suprised they went for that much. I figured it would barely get over MSRP... as people would think its just another used F-bod. Nowhere on BJ's site did it mention the "history" of the car... my guess is some camaro "nut" who knew what it was bought it...

Looks like a couple of the Camaro's didn't go or they didn't sell.
The play it loud Z28 and the 96 Brickyard 400 pac car.
They have all the results up from the auction if you want to see it.

The site list that IROC went for $21,000 and change. I did not even see the listing for the 1996 Brickyard 400 Camaro Pace Car.

Vin #2 was also used on the 2002 posters, wasn't it?

Yes, VIN 1 and VIN 2 were used on the Chevrolet advertising including the posters.
