So, it appears it heats the washer fluid in the car to 145 degrees and sprays it on the windshield in invervals.

It sprays hot fluid on a COLD windshield. Can you imagine the sudden thermal stresses that sets up in the glass???
Having had a windshield on my Firebird crack from hosing the car down in the summer with a garden hose while wetting it down for a wash.....
....seems to me there would a good chance of cracking a windshield on a cold wintery morning hitting it with a stream of very HOT water.
Also, you must still ensure that the wiper blades are not stuck to the glass as is usually the case in the morning.
I can see the benefits to this idea....but I would be very careful how and when I used it.

The FAQ says they've done extensive testing without cracking.

Might be good at the outside but then you still have the fogging of the inside windshield when you first get in.

But did they test an F-body windshield? Personally I don't think hot fluid on an icey window is a good idea....I've heard they also crack when you suddenly open the hood when the wipers are flipped up in any weather. Luckily, I don't live where scraping is a way of life in the winter time.

I agree with you on the hot on cold thing.
The windshield cracking when raising the hood when the wipers are up is caused from pressure in just the right spot, not temperature. Glass is very strong unless you tap it with a punch or apply pressure in one spot instead of distributing it.
We luckily only have to scrape ice less than a dozen days a year, so it's a very minor inconvenience.

Oh, I was just being a smart-azz about the wiper comment. It's just that there's been a few folks that suffered the "crap, I forgot to lower the wipers before I opened the hood" breakage. Not me, thankfully. Well, not yet anyway.
But if you thermally cycle glass rapidly, you run a huge risk when there's tiny cracks in it over time caused by rock chips, etc. That's when you can make a tiny crack into a windshield replacement.
