After a week or so of waaaayyyy too much drama at home, at work.....and other places.....I took a "mental health" day today. It was barely overcast, temp in the mid 70's, light wind......and so I decided to clean up my car.
It felt soooo nice to get outside in the fresh air (my office doesn't have windows) and do some physical work instead of sitting all day .......and then it occurred to me what a tremendous source of pleasure and enjoyment this car truly is! I knew he would be fun to own and fun to drive, but I never realized that there would be so many other wonderful facets to owning this car........
..... like.......the people.....friends.....here on this board.....that I have learned so much from and have shared so many things with simply because we have one really cool common denominator.......these fbodies and the passion that we all have for them. I'm really looking forward to the friendships I've already made here growing deeper, and I'm also looking forward to developing new friendships here on the board as well as at car events.
Ok.....enough mush.....take a gander at a couple pics of a squeaky-clean babyT:

Yes I agree. I have met so many people since I had my Z. Made a lot of great friends along the way. Owning a f-body is the coolest thing isn`t it? Posted by 1-35 anniverasy LE (Member # 2040) on :

Ah Schucks - you've discovered the F body secret.
It starts out with the cars and ends up being about the people. Posted by 35TH ED/ed (Member # 1709) on :

Millie ,
Even though I have not met you I can say you fit right in the Camaro family. A friend forever ! I can tell from my personal events how much I've enjoy owning my Camaro but most importantly the people I have met through all the shows and the Camaro Club that I formed. It all started back in 1998 and a little group of fbody crazies talking in a chat room on USCC chat room. From 8 people to now over 300 members Tri State Camaro Club has grown to unbelieveable amounts. I have meet over 35 people in person that I would not of met if it were not that internet club I started in 1999 when USCC when under. Anytime you can have over 25 Camaros from 6 different states from one club meet at a National show (SuperFest) you can say WOW this is cool. And these friends I will always have even though I only get to see them a couple times a year. So yes these cars do mean more than just a piece of metal sitting out on your driveway ,
Arch
Can you find Waldo in that picture above and it's not the fbodfather .... hint he is a regular back porcher

Well, I guess I'll put our two cents in...
Missi and I came into "F-bodiedness" because Missi wanted a hotrod, so I got her one (she's spoiled you know). But after being on this board and seeing the way people truly care about concerns both F-body related and not, I feel that we're becoming part of a family.
I've glanced at other boards, those related to the F-body and those related to my truck, and it amazes me how unhelpful and critical they are compared to C3. I finally found the time to get some pics of my truck online so others could see it and get ideas for theirs, etc. I posted a message on a board to say hi (I was new) and a link to my pics (I'm proud, you know). I get messages posted saying things like, "Oh, I wouldn't have gone with those wheels, EVERYONE'S going with those wheels...".
So, thanks y'all. Thanks for listening without criticizing. Thanks for letting us into the family and accepting us (and our vehicles) based solely on the fact that we have an F-body! Posted by Steve da Wrench (Member # 1301) on :

Ditto that. The SSOA started in December of 1999 and I look forward to our "reunion" in September at SSOA ThurSSday in Bowling Green, KY, even if it's the first time for meeting people. We get to know each other online, but what really seals the deal is meeting in person and hanging out together.

Preachin' to the choir...but...that really is the coolest aspect of our relationships in the f-body community. Whether it's a big event like BG or just 6 friends meeting in Waco, the chance to see a group of f-cars together and to meet the faces behind the keyboards.....that's what it's all about!!
.....and thanks for the kind words on my car! Posted by Xsta Z 28 (Member # 740) on :

Well said Millie!
i've only met a handful of people in the 2 1/2 years I owned my SS, but I can tell ya that we have a GREAT community here! Good times with Ralph, Glenn, et. al. And I'm glad I'm still accepted, even if I own a Cavy at the moment.
Nice and shiny SS Millie...I love black!! Posted by 2002 SLP SS (Member # 1893) on :
I agree also, whenever I drive the car or start it up I think of all the great people I have met, like Scott Settlemire says "Camaro is a lifestyle vehicle". That is true with the friendships that develop!

Nice pics of Baby T Millie!! I agree with what everyone has said!!! I love all of my f-body family members and can't wait to meet as many as I can. I can't even imagine not having Big Daddy around....I would be so lost! The cars really end up being so much more than just a vehicle!! SOOOO looking forward to Bowling Green to actually meet my family members face to face!! Posted by blkragss02 (Member # 1801) on :

Well said. Alot of people do not even come close to understanding what goes here and around these cars. It's like trying to explain a technology job to someone, their eyes glaze over and they get that "whatever" kinda look. It's a good thing the illness has such a wonderful support group!
"What did you do in group today? We talked about warping. "
