Mikey at Rapid Performance is THE MAN! Great guy, and he really knows LS1's. The car is a whole new beast now. I'm running code-free and above 4 grand the car has an incredible rush of urgency. Accelerating out of the corners is going to be a LOT of fun this year!!
I picked up 13lb-ft of torque and over 15hp by tuning alone, but more importantly drivability is greatly improved. Jesse had even more impressive gains, as his car responded well to timing adjustments.
OK, the all important numbers...these are SAE corrected figures from a DynoJet.
358 RWHP 371 RWTQ!!!!

Cool and congrats. I just finished watching Two Guys Garage and they also picked up HP by tuning as well as a new carburetor and exhaust. It got me thinking as to what I may be doing down the road to improve 35th LE SS. Posted by Doug 97SS #1499 (Member # 100) on :
I know Mike is the Magician!!! I will let Seth (leadfoot) post his results. He did WONDERS with Seth's car too.
I even got to drive Susans (Sales Manager for Rapid Motorsports) WRX STi. Awesome little machine. Simply awesome....too bad she wants to sell if for a truck so she can use it to haul her Camaro SS to the track with. What a great organization they have going. Both are extremely pleasant to deal with.

What was the gain from the headers and cats?
Can you tell?

The last dyno numbers I had were SAE 303RWHP and 311RWTQ.
Since then I did a smooth intake bellows, the ported TB, TB bypass, longtubes and cats, and tuning.
I know the tuning was good for 15RWHP and 13RWTQ since I did a baseline run, so that leaves 40HP and 47TQ that came from the other four.

Sorry, I didn't get there on Saturday morning. The streets were wet and I didn't want to get the SS dirty. Great numbers.

Hey John, Congrats on your new car! Just be careful in this cooler damp weather until you get used to your newfound power - you don't want your rear end breaking loose when you're not expecting it! I know how you feel! Last week ARE got me to 395 RWHP from 367 RWHP and I went to 379 RWTQ from 348 RWTQ - just on a new tune and a set of NGKs! http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/512022/4 Enjoy - and keep it safe!
Best regardSS,
Elie

No worries Art, I won't be able to make Bowling Green this year. With the new house and all of the track days I'm planning this year I won't have the days off to fit it in.
Will you be coming down for Skyline in June?

Very nice #s for the mods you have!!!!! Posted by Sizzle (Member # 503) on :
Sweet. Way to go. I have basically the same mods as you, getting a new cam put in shortly plus a pulley package, can't wait for the dyno and tune on that *drool*
