Over the last break when I was at home, we had 6 cars at our house. My parents, me and my two-siblins, and my sister's boyfriend were all there. Everyone was asleep, it was 2 am in the morning, and someone starts banging on our door.

It wakes my dad up, he goes downstairs (with me in tow), opens the door, and there are 4 cops standing there. they look at my dad, and ask "You having a party here tonite sir??" Of course, everthing had been quite for hours, so my dad just looked at the guy and said, "No, are you people crazy?". Of course, the cops told us that they had seen all the cars and decided there was a party going on, and wanted to make sure there werent any under-aged alcohol drinkers around. My dad explained that he had 3 kids home from college, and his daughter's boyfriend was also visiting, and taht tehy needed to not bother people at an ungodly hour like 2 am.

The funny part, is that our house is in a neighborhood that is relatively new. There are only 2 streets, and our street is a dead end, so its 1 way in, 1 way out. The cops had cordoned off our street on the end with cruisers, so no one could leave. There is also alley parking as well, and they had another car barricading the alley parking as well. They also had lights rolling and EVERYTHING. About 6 cars in all.

Now, i can understand if there is a noise complaint, but in a neighborhood iwth only 10 houses, we all pretty much know each other, and there were no parties going on. Also no noise from our place. So these cops evidently saw a bunch of cars at a house over the christmas break, called in for backup, went to a great deal of effort to cordon off the street, and then came banging on our door. I really love the way that my tax dollars are being spent so effectively.

Of course, this happened a month after my dad's stroke, and i know it raised his blood pressure up (he has to check it several times a day now), which is very dangerous. I just found out recently that there was actually no complaint called in at all that night, which means that the cops had lied to us when they told us someone had filed a complaint about a noisy party on our street. Besides, only 1 other family has kids, and they dont do stuff like parties.

Those cops would have a field day at my house. On any given day I have 3-4 cars in the drivway and when it is nice out, I have had the driveway full of Camaros. Sounds like those cops have a thing against people that own more than a couple of vehicles.

You should have asked them in while you make "The Doughnuts". At 2am it's a little early to start but if they wanted to hang for awhile ............. [Big Grin]

Had a cop come to my house once, give me the riot act about my kids slamming a neighbors car with one of those huge sling shots that shoot t-shirts into the air at concerts...

OK, that's not cool, any damage?

You should call the Chief and file a complaint. I had to do that once.

A few years ago I got a rap on the door at around 4:00 am. My dog went absolutely nugging futs. It was chaos! I jumped out of bed thinking the worst. I didn't have my contacts in and couldn't find my glasses so I was as blind as a bat. I get to the door and say "Who's there?"
I hear a reply, "It's the police, we have a situation in your neighborhood and I need to come in and use your phone."
Now, I'm totally blind but I can see absolutely no flashing lights aoutside at all so I said, "Bullsheit! I don't see anything going on out there. Go away now or I'll call the cops." All I can make out is a big fuzzy shadowy figure with a big afro through the window. My dog was still going crazy and so I called 911. I told them what was happening and they said, "Yea, give him the phone!" I cracked the door and handed him the phone outside. By then my wife had gotten my gun and found my glasses. I finally saw that it was a cop afterall. He was a big black dude but the afro was a black riot helmet and he was wearing a cammo poncho and had a machine gun over his shoulder... whoa there!

After he got off the phone he apologized and explained that he needed a land-line and that their suspect, a deranged guy with a gun around the corner, had a scanner. They didn't want him to hear their strategy. Needless to say I was pretty ticked off about it and called the Chief the next day and told him to buy cell phones for their troopers. WTF do I have to go through that and let them use my phone? That's what I pay taxes for. If that guy had come barging into the house and I still couldn't see who it was I may have shot him. That would have been a big problem!

Well FC..........if you hadn't parked your cars all over the lawn.........hehehehe

Seriously, it sounds like you have a real beef with the Police. Some of the other stories posted above are almost as bad. What's wrong with these guys anyway?

If the police did that to my family I would have there jobs as well as the Chiefs. Contact your Congressional Representative. They violated your families rights.
