I am trying desperately to get My SS out here in Michigan from Washington State. I don't really want to drive back, get it, drive back, I mean a 6500 mile trip sounds like fun, but once is enough. I did make the drive from Eastern Washington to Midland Michigan in 36 hours.
I am low on my budget right now and am just exploring my options to get it out here.
Does anyone know a cheaper, yet safe, way to get a car shipped? I haven't seen my Camaro SS or my Silverado SS in nearly 4.5 months. Its killing me.

Call Reliable in Canton. They ship cars for GM and Ford and even for a private owner, all over the country.
It was $900 to ship an f-body from Newark, NJ (just outside NYC) to Denver via enclosed truck. Very professional staff, clean facilities, and the car arrived perfectly.
You can usually cut down on the cost if you can ship between main terminals, and they usually have terminals in major cities. In my case, the $900 was terminal to terminal... they will pick up and deliver to your door for an additional charge.
There really isn't much to it, it's alot like shipping a package. The shipper should do a full inspection of the vehicle each time it changes hands (ie dropoff and pickup). Also, if you use a shipper that carries a lot of high performance/classic cars, they are very careful with loading/unloading the cars, how they handle the cars, and who gets to drive them in the lot. DAS was VERY serious about satisfying both myself and the buyer of my car who was picking it up in Denver, but that could depend on the local agent as well.

I used Intercity Lines to have my '67 pace car shipped from Las Vegas to Upstate NY, ...$1000. Very professional, no problems at all. Bottom line, for about $1000 you can get enclosed shipping through most of the carriers mentioned...
Use Reliable!! I shipped my '01 SS from CA to CT ($1400 for enclosed trailer) & it arrived 2 days before it was supposed to. They were awesome to work w/ & extremely flexible.
Just remember - if you need it shipped w/ in a small timeframe, expect to pay a little more.
Good Luck! -Andy

I say the same. A friend used to ship All his vehicles from Michigan to Arazona where his son would sell them. GM uses them for what has to be shipped.

Hey I remember that car... you worked at McCurleys.... If you want to go cheaper you can ship on a open transport and its less.... Moving around the "company" uses DAS.... they were fine. Next time I move all my cars are going enclosed though....
