I would like the whole setup including cats and y-pipe. Who has done this, and what companies does everyone like. I like SLP because they make all SS stuff, but it may be too expencive.

You need to think about your overall plan. Do you plan to lower the car, do you plan to do heads, cam, etc. Getting the right part the first time is always the best way to go, the added expense of fixing problems, making adjustments, etc. will add up fast.
SLP headers are good, their full set up works well but they allow less clearance than others.
FLP makes a full kit, very popular, had some banging issues and some oil filter and drain plug clearance issues but many are happy with theirs.
PPC had a GP here and several members joined in. They are built from the gtoyohan design and look like a nice kit.
QTP makes the same header in stainless with a different y pipe design.
Kooks makes an excellent header, also the grotyohan design (sort of) but I have not seen their full set up so can't comment, many swear by them for best power.
TTS makes a complete setup, good fitment, easy install, uses a collector flange connection instead of slip on. They do not produce as good power as the grotyohan design (my opinion). I like them though because of their thick flange, fitment, clearance, and the flange has protected the headers from scrapes on several occasions.

I eventually plan to get the level one kit, but not more than that in the lowering of the car. I do not plan to use different heads, or place a cam in it. I will eventually get sub frame connectors. U plan to keep the car as stock as a owner of a SS can keep it.

DaddySS- Thanks for the info on the TTS. I need to keep the SS CA legal (at least for now) and the TTS look like the only ones with the EO standing.
As to lowering- not at this time. It is still a street (and parking lots with speed bumps) driver. I barely clear the SFC on the speed bumps.
Any estimates for power increaes?
.....I'm still contemplating changing the heads and cam after the warranty expires.

I just recently installed the QTP headers with cats and ypipe. I am very pleased with this setup.

I've got the SLP longtubes, cats and y-pipe. I also have the Bilstein suspension option which lowers the SS about one inch from stock suspention. The lowest part of the system is the driver side cat. It has about 3.5 inches of ground clearance. Needless to say, I'm very careful about where I drive.
I also have the CME exhaust system and the exhaust sound at normal accelleration (whatever that is) is actually a bit quieter with the headers installed. It sure has a sweet sound at WOT. I hope this helps with your decision.

that is what I am looking for Harry. Do you remember what you got it for?

I got my system from Zeke's in Montreal, Quebec in Feb, 2003. Zekes was affiliated with SLP Canada and sells SLP performance parts in Canada. Delivered to my door was around CAN$2600.00 which was equivalent to around US1600.00 back then. It is an expensive system, but the quality is there and it looks great!

I have the Kooks Headers. I feel that they are the best. I know people that bought the SLP and now wish that they didn't and are now buying the Kooks. I can get you a good price on the whole package if you wish..
