The rain and hail we had today made it perfect weather to get under the hood today. I managed to get these put on. A couple of dress up items from Mallory Billet Aluminum. The pics don't do it justice. Looks better in person. 8)
You need to get rid of that k&n filter. It doesn't seal properly and will allow dirt in your engine over time.

Yes I noticed the top part of the plastic intake does not fit too good over the bottom part. . The bottom piece is not straight and bends downwward at the left front corner Its kinda cheap design Do you know if someone makes and aftermarket SS style assembly thats better then this? I would like to keep the same style but just a better built assembly. I see the one that BADRAG has is nice but I would like to keep this setup if possible.

Go with the HOLLEY, it is designed for the 96/97 SS air box, the K&N is not...it's the last filter you will buy...

I have that same cover. Is yours polished. Another thing you can do is polish your ac lines and that metal piece thats in front of your alternator. Use Mothers Mag & Alumimun Polish or Meguiars All Metal polish. Shines them like crazy! Posted by 30thSSNerd (Member # 2155) on :
LT14SHOW...yes it is a polished cover but it does not look it in the picture . Thanks for the tip on the metal polish..I will get some this week! Posted by LT14SHOW (Member # 2187) on :
The Maguiars brand is not sold at Murrays nor Autozone. Check on their webpage for a supplier. I found some at a local paint shop.
