Took the Hawk out for a cruise during lunch. I floored it and the motor hicuped, I took my foot off the throttle and it still remained wide open.
I kicked the pedal few times and it came back, my next step was throwing it in neutral.
This is the third time the motor has hicuped when floored, but the first time the throttle got stuck wide open. Has this happen too anyone else?
I remember reading post on the SLP board about stuck throttles.

I remember that old SLP post. I don't think it was a floor mat problem they were talking about, but something wrong with the computer.

yes, that was Pete up in Vermont. JeffY got word to the GM Powertrain guys. They put a black box on his car to monitor and record data. I dont believe they ever caught a reoccurance of it.
Just saying, most likely cause is the floormat.

Didnt 1 or 2 people actually have a wreck because of it?

Mine ran up to 3500 on it's own 3 times about 1 week ago. Once while just sitting idleing, and twice while in motion. I just clutched in and it dropped on it's own after about 10 seconds. Posted by Bandit (Member # 1867) on :
Moved the mat, will see what happens. Now I am careful when I drop the hammer..
Car goes in the shop next week for a ton of warranty work, I'll have them look at it.
