I have a 2002 35th LE Vert w/36,000 miles. For the past week whenever I start the car it hesitates as if it isn't getting fuel. Normally it will start right up without even having to push the gas pedal barely but now I have to push it pretty hard and then it kind of does a delayed reaction thingy. Also, I got much better gas mileage on my last tank of gas, signifying that maybe the system isn't getting enough fuel.
Out here in Phoenix, we switch over from our winter mix of oxygenated fuel to the summer mix in mid-April so I am not sure whether this has anything to do with it or not.
I am not good when it comes to the mechanical part of these cars. Does this sound like a clogged fuel filter or does it sound like something else? Is there any way to check the fuel filter?

Sure sounds like a dirty fuel filter. You are really due for a new one at that mileage anyway.Give it a try 1st. Posted by Mike2001SS (Member # 2088) on :
yes change the filter as it is very hard on the fuel pump when they start to clog and should be changed before you notice trouble
