about engine upgrades. By the time I get back from BG in Sept, I will have over 50,000 on Big Daddy. After looking at headers(my car sits TOO low for them) and nitrous(basically, do not want to go that route) we are looking at just doing some internal work or a complete new engine.
My question is, can you get the 427's? And if so, where? What about the ZL1's...just want some places to look at and some information to gather so we can decide which route to take.

I can share my plans and wishes - I'm thinking along the lines of heads (LS6). Need to keep everything very legal since we're in California. Not sure an LS6 or similar cam would set off the CARB police, however it would be nice. Still considering headers, however the stock springs are still on and I probably won't change them when the QA1 shocks go in.
Have looked at the BMR tubular K-members and tubular upper and lower A-arms. Improving the handling (and reducing the weight) is good.

What headers have you looked at? It is my understanding that TPIS or PPC headers fit up fairly tight and will work on lowered cars.
As I recall Gordon is a road racer type and he had a lowered TA. He used that car to develop the PPC headers so that they would fit on a lowered car.
I also have a lowered car and at some point it will need an engine re-build. It currently has about 110,000 miles on the engine. When it is time, it will be going to ARE for a complete Street Eliminator package/build up, with either one of those two headers. Unless, Nick at ARE suggests something else at that time.
