I just purchased my very first "import". My wife was driving a beater to work 100 miles a day with 169,000 miles on it. A '95 Saturn SL1. It still to this day has had zero mechanical failures, but needed some work.
I purchased a... well.. mitsubishi for her.. ;(
I think it's a hot car... but it's my first import purchased EVER with the exception of a 98 VW New Beetle for my Ex 6 years ago.

I loved my Eclipse when I had it. Good Luck!

Be careful changing the belt on it. It has a crappy, weak, tensioning mechanism that is easily prone to breakage. Other than that, as far as reliability, mine ran great until the valve cover gasket blew (about 110,000). Other than that, it held up to abuse quite well.

I got 10 bucks on the eclipse, because we all know that a bolt on muffler will give you like 100 horse. My brother has an eclispe, and he likes it very much. Enjoy.

...my wife has an '01 Eclipse GT...it's been a completely troublefree car and I am amazed how quick it is with that little 3 liter V6. It also has quite a bit of cargo room with the rear seat down. It's a very nice all around car.
Congratulations...

Ummm...congrats? But seriously - Natalie should enjoy driving it. Do you remember Christen (my co-pilot to Bowling Green)? She had one for a couple years and like it a lot...until it developed an intermittent computer glitch that would stall the engine (sometimes at 60mph).

I don't know much about Mitsus, but is the GST still turbocharged? I know a friend with a 1995 GST and it had a stock turbo on it that he has now upgraded and added an intercooler.

Just kidding man. I actually think they are sharp cars. Considering the General doesn't have anything comparable, at least until the Solstice comes out.

Unfortunately the turbo didn't make it into the new model,,,,bad for car guys because they were really fun and easy enough to hot rod.For Mitsu it is a good thing because they are selling more of this "Secretary Special" version!!!!!
