Has anybody used "L.E.D. Bulbs" in place of their stoplight/rear turn signal bulbs? For those of you hearing about this for the first time, it is a regular 3057/3157 bulb with anywhere from 12-20 l.e.d.s on it in place of the glass part. They are available in white, red and amber. Are they worth getting? How do they look? Thanks!

Ive seen those on some imports running around. They don't project the light out... IE fill up the lens with light like a regular old bulb. I thought they were a lot dimmer and hard to see and definately not as bright as bulbs... I wouldn't get them for one simple reason... that someone might not see your brake lights and rear end you. I doubt they are street legal and if you got in an accident I'm not sure if you would be at fault at all... other driver could claim your lights were too dim?

I saw one of those near the checkout counter at the auto parts store yesterday. I had no idea what it was so I picked it up to look. It was clear, but said it put out a blue light? Intrestingly enough, on the back of the package it had a warning sticker that said for off road use only, for show cars or other cars not on the road...yadda yadda. Then why sell them? We sell many things at auto zone that is for offroad use only. Then they expect us to know all the laws of the road. If they help people see you stop, then I am all for it.
