Well guys, I put down my new floor coating last week & I'm not happy with it at all to say the least. I've got several spots where the finish is dull & blotchy even though I followed the directions methodically & prepped the floor as good as can possibly be done. The most frustrating thing is that I've tried since last Thursday to get someone from U-Coat-It to help me with this & can't even get so much as a call back. Appearently there is only one guy in the entire company that can help me & he's never there & must not check his messages either. It specifically says on the instructional video that the "bond coat" is to be a thin & uniform coat, but the places where I put it down thick is actually where I got the best results (the finish coat follows after the bond coat is fully dried). I've checked their web site for trouble shooting tips (apparently I'm not the only one with this type of problem) & all of the possible problems that they list (proper ventalation, appropriate drying time, stain removal etc.), I took care of ahead of time.
If anyone can help me get a hold of someone or even knows of a dealer that might be able to have more pull with the company, please let me know. This kit was over double the price of other typical kits & I spent the extra $$$ not to have problems such as this.

I wish I could help you. I looked into U-Coat it, but I was told it was best used on a new cement floor. If it is applied to an older floor I guess you really have to do a great prep job. I want a nice floor in the garage, but if I don't go with rubber mat I will most likely go with Behr's. Good luck hope things work out.

I have not used that product either. I just bought the garage floor epoxy kit from Rust-Oleum. I hope to do that this weekend and hope it turns out nice. Not good customer service if that company will not call you back.

I've been contemplating on doing this myself, but couldn't decide on who I would buy from. I was considering them and the even higher priced Musclegloss. Apparently, things got a bit clearer for me. Price alone doesn't guarantee results. This seems to be the case here. One would THINK that you get what you pay for, but in this case it's what you DON'T get after you've paid for it.
If you only tried contacting them once, then I'd say it may be a fluke, etc., but it sounds like they're ill-equipped to handle customer concerns. Thusly, U-Coat is off my list. This is what you can consider Business Basics 101 crash course in one quote...."the ultimate goal you should have in business is to obtain and retain customers, because without the customer, NOTHING else matters." And you certainly won't be doing much obtaining or retaining with horrible customer service. Too many businesses seem to forget this along the way. And if that type of customer service continues, needless to say you won't be seeing U-Coat around for a whole lot longer.

I couldn't agree more El. I thought I was getting the best mainly because of the gaurantee they offer, but if I'm having this much trouble with them now, god only knows what it would be like a year or two down the road if I have a problem.
I left my 5th detailed message this morning with the guy answering the phone & if I don't hear back by the end of the day, then I'm going to call back again & not let them off the phone until SOMEONE talks to me! I just can't understand treating a customer like this.

I went to their web site to see if I could find any corporate compnay information. No luck....hhhhmmmm.
Then when I was exiting the site it crashed Internet Exploder. Nice company.....not.

Yeah, I've contacted three outside dealers of the stuff trying to find out the owners name or a manager to speak with, but no luck yet.

Well almost a week & 10+ phone calls later, the guy finally gets in touch with me. After talking through the whole process he admits that I did everything correctly & offers to pay half of another coat which basically will be another $70 out of my pocket. (That will be $350 total for a damn two car garage!) He also admitted that saying on their instructional video that the bond coat should be a thin coat was "probably" incorrect that they that should "probably" change that to say that you should use all the materials instead, but according to him I was just supposed to know that already. Or maybe I should have walked back across the wet floor to put down a thicker coat when I was done. I'm sure that would have looked really nice!
Bottom line is DO NOT SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY for a product when their customer serivce is this poor.

If that company admitted that the 1st coat should have been thicker...I would think they would be sending you all of the needed materials for free. I sure hope the Rust-Oleum brand garage floor epoxy kit I just bought for $96 at Home Depot for a 2 1/2 garage does the trick. I would hate to have to try and remove all of that coating.

It "showed" on the U-Coat website for 500 square feet of garage should cost just under $300.
In comparison, the "bronze kit" I was interested in from Musclegloss.com was $525
I'm wondering if there is any real difference. I've been searching over the sites trying to come up with something that'll work for me, but not scrape out my wallet too much. It's already flat.
