.....but I finally have some interior and engine pics. They are not Digital camera photos...they are from a CD. I lack Michelles (Flaminbirds) talent...but they came out okay. I had to shrink them down so they lost some resolution...whaddayawant..I'm no expert.

Great looking Camaro. You painted the tail panel black like a SS with a big block would of had. [Cool]

Pete,
The '68 looks great!, ..what's that other 'thing'?
......just kidding!! [Razz] , ...they both look awsome.
Seriously though, I have a technical question for you on your '68: (I need some photos if you could). Since your car is another of the 1755 '68 Camaro's with fiber-optics ("GM Vigilite System") AND is an RS (same as mine) Could you photo the fiber optic lines where they enter the housings of the front directional assemblies? ...and possibly a close-up of the grommet used?

Thanks,
Kevin

Yeah...its not "correct" for a small block...but I loved the way it looks. [Cool]

...and Matt...the color is Medium Quasar Blue (from 93 Camaro). Its a little darker than the
IROC blue. [Smile]

Thanks Kevin! As soon as I get a digital camera I will do this. I used a regular camera and had the photos transferred to a CD to get them online.
and its taken me forever just to do that. But as soon as I get a dig cam...I will do that for you.

Its my understanding that the lense housings are
actually different for the fiberoptics than non-fiberoptic cars.
There are also special brass fittings on the ends of the
fiber optic "wires" that slip into the light
housings. The originals wires were cut by some
bonehead who must have thought they were "electric"
I had to go to the junkyard and pull fiber optic
cables out of an old caddy to re-wire them, but
that was a blast for me to do. [Cool]

Great pics, thanks for sharing. [Big Grin] Is it me, or is the Camaro interior a bit more luxurious than the beemers? Hoo-hah! [Wink]

Looks good. [Smile]

So in the picture where the rear seat is folded down, is that stuffed dog squished in there between the cushions? [Big Grin]

Great looking pics. I can see you have Cold Beer running through the Camaro. Not many cars (probably not the Beamer) with a "FRIGIDAIRE" under the hood [Big Grin] [Razz] .

...Thanks Pete.
Luckily my original fiber-optics are still intact (with the brass ends). I was also able to obtain the grommets (and "lens") that go into the housings of the RS lamps. Before I drill into the housing I wanted to be 100% sure of the exact location. (The 'photocopied' assembly manual just doesn't give that kind of detail [Smile]

I wouldn't say more "luxurious"...but it most definitely has more character! [Wink]

Craig: Thats Homer...and I would never squish Homer... [Razz]

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. [Big Grin]

Nice pics of your '68. [Smile] I like the color combination with blue on the outside and white on the inside. [Razz]

Steve's been in search of the holy grail of Camaro options for years. Fiber optics for his '68 Convertible. [Cool]

Somewhere down the road...I would like to pick up a clean 97 30th SS with Houndstooth to have as a play toy. Or a nice 93 Pace Car at a reasonable price. My favorite Camaros (aside from my 68) were my 94 and 95 Z28s. [Smile]

I don't know if you know the story...but I just offloaded a problematic 01 SS, so to be honest...any 4th gen Camaro I would buy would need to be an LT1 car. In my experience they were better cars than the LS1 versions.

Very nice '68 Pete. My friend's older brother had a similar '68 Camaro, but I don't think it had the fiber optic turn signals. It was dark blue with a white stripe across the front and had the same "stacks" on the hood, which you don't see very often, most seem to have the ribbed type. His was a 4 speed also and the lousy Muncie shifter would get jammed between gears sometimes.
