I filled my 1990 Chevy Suburban's fuel tank last Saturday and took a trip across the State. I just filled the trucks tank last night and it took 20 gallons of gas , and that is after I drove it 358 miles. That figures out to 17.9 MPG combined city and hi way. Not bad for a truck that weights almost 3 tons! [Cool]

Lucky you! My 89 Burb gets 12-13 mpg. It's 4X4 though. It is a BEAST isn't it. My kids call it the "bus".

I guess I can't complain about my daily driver, it gets 30mpg. [Smile]

It is a bus! Actually my 1990 was built in the Pontiac Bus and Truck Plant. Mine is a 2WD. My German Sheperds love the amount of room in the 'Burban. They each can have room without being next to each other and plenty of windows to look out, so there ia always a room with a view! [Big Grin]

I get 29 mpg in my Cavalier. Not sure how the SS is now, will have to watch it over the next couple of tanks.

My 2000 S-10 PU gets 22-23 mpg. Which isn't too bad. My 97 Blazer gets about 20 mpg around town.

Last year I towed my son's 1979 Camaro to the Berger Chevrolet show and it got 10 mpg. That was a 5,500 lb load and towing in drive instead of overdrive. [Smile]

My daily driver Ranger only gets about 19 on the highway, but then again that's not that bad when you consider I sit in traffic all the time and also drive about 80 when there's no traffic. [Big Grin]

My 03 Burb averaged 18mpg (@75-80mph) when I took it across the Western US. Around town it gets about 14-15mpg. Like you said Greg, not bad when you consider you're driving a small neighborhood around. [Big Grin]

Heck thats almost as good as my new 04 Silverado... but mines a 4wd with 20's on it and the guy behind the wheel likes to take off from stoplights at full throttle... if I could keep my foot out of I bet I would do better but I love the sound of the Corsa Exhaust on a 5.3! [Smile]

I forgot, in the flat lands of the US you can buy trucks and SUVs in the two wheel driver version...my truck and the burb are 4WD. At nearly 5,000 ft with all passes out of here being over 7,000 ft snow is a way of life

...I averaged 31.25 mpg in the Hawk when I went up to Skyline last year (of course around town it's more like 16-18). My Blazer 4 x 4 averages just shy of 19 mpg, and the Wahine's Eclipse averages right at 30. Seriously looking to replace the Blazer with a new Dodge Magnum...I've read several rave reviews about that 8/4 Hemi that runs on 4 cylinders when cruising. My job may be getting relocated 75 miles away...that just could be the final straw that makes the decision for me...
