I'd like to lower my 35th, just for looks. It is the "basic" package, no other SLP options. SLP says their spring package may or may not lower the car (?), and recommends contacting Eibach. Eibach says their Pro-Kit will lower 1.2 inches, but they have the same kit for the SS as for a Z-28, which doesn't seem right to me. Does anyone know what I need to just lower 1 to 1.5 inches to close that gap in the wheel wells? Thanks!

Mike I can tell you from 3 SS's I have had that SLP's bilsten set-up lowers the car more than they say or is advertized. Go to my webshots album and look at the album of my SS and the pics showing the SFC and you will see how low the car is and it came with the SLP bilsten package and my other SS sits the same way

If cost isn't a major object go with a Ground Control or Global West coilover kit for the front and weight jacker for the rear. That way you can set the height exactly where you want it and adjust it as desired.
I have the Ground Control package on my Zed and really like it. Had it on the SS for a while but have the SLP Bilstein back on now, with the original rear coils to maintain some rake.
The coilover kits are also easier to service if you want to change the front shocks.

Also might want to consider getting an "adjustable" pan hard bar. Apparently your body might be off line if you try and use your stock bar.

OR you can buy Koni's that will allow you to lower the car in the front (there are 2 settings), then on the rear spring remove the spacer at the top of it and put heater hose on the top ring. THat should lower the car about 1" all around.

I agree 110% with PoSSum on this one. I have been through the lowering springs route and have had to re-do the whole setup. I now have Global West springs, adjustable collars and weight jackers on the rear.
The ability to easily change ride height and change spring rates (if need be) is well worth the extra expense.

...I've got an '02 (vert) with Bilstein, ...like Mike mentioned above, it does lower the car (nicely). I did opt to lower the front another 1" through some modifications. Also, consider RELOCATION BRACKETS. Even stock (Bilstein) my LCA's were angled DOWN to the front, ...exactly what you DON'T want. With the SLP Bilstein and (BMR bolt-on) relocation brackets, ...the LCA's are about level. One other thought, the Bistein does provide a very nice ride... Kevin
