I agree. I use it, and the key is to get the extra oil out first, then LIGHT strokes just to pick up the dust on an already clean car. Works like a champ. The little dash duster works great too! It's not the end all be all for car detailing, but it's quick and easy to clear off those "specks" that bug you, especially on the dark colors.

I'll have to go check that out. I don't even know if we still have a Big Lots in this town anymore...

I use those. I even have a small one for the dash. Now where is a Big Lot near my area? [Smile]

All the time.

My old one worked fine for many years. I bought a new one about three years ago and that sucker still has too much parrafin in it. Every time I dust my black car, it leaves parrafin residue spots on it. I have tried several times putting the thing on newspapers to bleed off the excess. Guess maybe I should invest in another one.

Love the CCD & and Dash Duster, too!

I love my duster, although I don't use it as much as I used to now that the SS isn't my daily driver.

I have read that there are fakes on the market and those are the ones that leave the wax residue on the car. They are the dusters with plastic handles instead of wood.

From Superior Car Care:

Oh, and one note of caution : beware of imitators! It has come to our attention that there are “copycat” dusters being sold. Be assured there is only one original California Car Duster that has been the trade secret to those in the detailing industry for years. The imposters we’re told leave a greasy type residue in their wake. You would do better to avoid them. Instead, look for the one with the original wooden handle – the one and only original California Car Duster.

Wouldn't be without one, and yes, that is a great deal.

I have 2- one from years ago at Reno's Hot August Nights from some booth (near an auction where they were selling a Chevy aluminum V-8), and the last one from Costco last year.

You do need to get rid of the excess paraffin or you'll wipe it all over your car. Do not use it on a hot car, especially the hood, otherwise there will be a nice coating of paraffin.

They work great- a few wipes and the dust comes off!

Holy Chit! I have one of the "fakes". Mine says
original as seen on T.V. Blah Balh, but it has
a plastic handle and leaves waxy streaks!

Thanks Bro - I'm looking for a real one now!

On an older duster, you can take some Race Glaze Highlighter, spray a small amount onto then duster, then wipe off your pride and joy....really works well!

Use it for all my vehicles. Very satisfied with the results. I have seen the medium size at Pep Boys, locally, for $9.99
