Here's a few pictures that I tried to get at approximately the same angle, showing the progress of the house so far as a synopsis. The roof needs a few shingles to finish, and the HVAC ducting is going in at the moment, and the well drillers have already located stuff out near the drill site. And the siders are nearly complete with the siding. Still a few items to clear up, but it's starting to at least LOOK like a house.

Looks very nice! So far my new house is just a poured basement...with the beam installed...nothing else...looking for end of September completion.

Hmm thats odd they don't pour a foundation... looks like they used cinder blocks? Looks good except you should have built a larger garage... which is what I need right now....

You may have missed the first few posts about this, but around here, cinder block foundations are kind of the norm with crawlspaces (I found out there are at least two kinds of block, the dense kind for building supports like in this use and the porous kind for non-load bearing stuff). Strange, but true. I think it's a cost issue. On the very rare occasion that there's a basement, then everything is poured. Northerners usually never understand the block thing. Anyway, the two car garage will be supplemented with a 40 x 40 (for now, but it will expand) separate shop.

coming along nicely! Lots of homes around here have block foundations. I'd say about 50 - 50 with new homes.

Hmm yeah, everywhere I've lived I've always had a house with poured concrete foundation with a crawlspace... one thing thats more an east coast thing is basements... out west you don't find them. A 40x40 shop will be REALLY nice... now I'm envious... If I could make it pencil I would be in a different house with a larger garage... but most houses with a larger garage are a lot larger and a single guy doesn't need a hosue that big... I can barely keep up what I have between all the travel...
