I have been testing them since Thursday, here is my appreciation of them !!!
DRY = The sidewall is a softer than the SZ50 so it flexes more in very spirited driving at 32PSI,I tried them at 40PSI and the are pretty near what the SZ50 was. I will try various other inflations over the next week and keep you posted. I fugure it will end up like 35-37 PSI range. Did 150 miles this morning on the way to the track at 40 and it was a little too firm for my taste,on the way back tried 40 front/32 rear it was better but not ideal.
WET= Forget the SZ50,these things are superior in every way, traction from a dead stop, from a roll, cornering, lane change, standing water slalom on wet even. These things are FANTASTIC.
Drag racing= I am geared 4.11 so anything i tried[rpm] ended up in smoke or wheel hop[30lbs],maybe someone with saner[3.42/3.23]gearing can test them and report.
Treadwear= I cannot believe these things will last as long as the SZ50 or the SZ50EP,they are WAY too sticky in my opinion, unless they came out with a newer compound.
These things are GREAT,and if you figure in the price they are INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Posted by SS_CarGuy (Member # 2065) on :
That's good news. How do they compare price wise with the GoodYear F1's?

Great to hear they stick well - especially in the wet! It will be interesting to see where their limits are on the track, as well as seeing how well they stand up to a day of lapping. My F1 GS-D3 seemed to hold up better than the SZ50 EPs after a lapping day (but maybe that's because my driving technique is improving!), but only time will tell. The other issue that will be resolved with time, is how long the tires are able to maintain their stickiness. The SZ50 EPs were unbelievable in this regard. I have my old set in the garage and although they are down to the wear bars, they were still gripping like glue when I took them off. They maintained their grip (in the wet as well) right down to the bitter end. It will be most interesting to see if the Fuzions are made that way as well (with the 2 different rubber compounds, 1 underneath the other) and also if the F1 GS-D3s can maintain their good grip down to the wear bars. Thanks for the update!
Best regardSS,
Elie

I am getting 2 Fuzion tires installed tomorrow (just on the front) in replacement of Potenzas. The guy at the tire place highly recommended them for the performance at their price. I am getting them for $316 installed, which is MUCH less than I paid for two Potenzas installed. I told him about you saying they were stickier than the SZ50's and still lasted as long, and he was impressed.

I am wondering IF they will last as long because they are so sticky,I figure even if they don't it is a good trade off!!
You will ABSOLUTELY love them in the wet!!!!

Just got back from Gingerman Raceway (Road Course in South Haven, MI) with my new Goodyear F-1 GS-D3's on all four of my 2000 SS. WOW! They are the best! Stuck like GLUE in the Dry & I was able to go about 80% in the Wet. Not sure how long they'll last & not cheap - about $191 each from Tire Rack. Great Tires!
