get bored with your life??? Lately, the hubby and I are tired of living where we live. We work so hard and have SOOO little time to 'play'! The hubby works a full-time job and a part-time job and it is all just to maintain what we have....the house and the two SS's...which we could sell BUT they are our only 'escape' from all the work!
We would really like to move somewhere east of here. It seems like you guys are always having all kinds of 'car things' going on back there and getting together for events.
Just wondering if anyone else ever feels that way or maybe I'm going through a 'mid-life crisis'

Well my wife and I were tired of living where we were with the punk kids across the street doing their dope deals all of the time and needed a smaller house since my kids have both moved out. I wanted a bigger garage for a long time and could not build any bigger on my regular city lot.So we moved to the country. We both love the new house and sleep better. Real peaceful. The draw back is the house is not smaller than our old house and it is on a dirt road. I would say it was still a change for the better even though my house payment is several hundred more each month. Posted by poSSum (Member # 119) on :
SSo much SStuff. SSo little time. It is difficult to achieve a balance at times.
We're blessed to be happy with our station in life at the moment.

It is relatively cheap to live in Michigan. Gas and insurance are the real pain here. Other then that, it is not bad at all.
I work a full time job, and a part time job about 6 months out of the year, which is in the winter. So my part time does not cut into my SS time.

My other half and I have talked for years about moving, mostly to get away from 6 months of snow. Well we both are losing our jobs (we also work together) so we are moving west. We don't have jobs there, but I have family there and we are just going to wing it. If nothing else I will get to drive the SS for more of the year.

That is alot of us here I would say. Cindy works long hours at the hospital and I work long hours at my job and bad thing is I go in at 6am and she is asleep still and she goes to work at 2pm and is not at home when I get in as she comes home about 2am and I am asleep so we see each other to talk on the weekend and getting to go somewhere with the cars is all there is

About a month ago my wife and I were driving around and said "lets look at houses". We did & found one we really liked. Its a bit bigger, nice landscaping & best of all a 2 car garage!! The SS can stay indoors We plan to move in around August 10th. We have been in our house for 21 years & thought it was time to move. You never know when your life could change.

Seriously, we all go through some sort of 'phase' at one or more points in our lives. Being bored with the surroundings may be rooted from a desire to do something different with your lives. Sometimes it's that subconcious motivator part of us that says "we need some excitement." We just have to pull the trigger and do it. Our tastes and outlook on life changes as we age, and sometimes a huge event alters that outlook, sometimes drastically. Such as a sudden death in the family. For years, my dad's hobby used to be buying property and fixing up old houses. Then my mom got sick and died, and he lost all interest in his favorite hobby, and sold all the houses except the one he lives in now. You never know how you'll react.
Perhaps one outlook you may take is one of what kind of goals you would want to achieve later in life. When we were very young and in the rebellious phase, we couldn't wait to move out on our own, get jobs and find our own way. Well, that's done. What's next?
This may sound like simple advice, and it is. (Don't make life complicated, make it enjoyable!)... Focus on the positive, try to forget the negatives, set the goals on where you want to be in your life based on where you are now. Figure out a plan, then implement the plan (and don't be afraid to tweak it along the way) and enjoy the adventures!

We often talk about where we'd like to live when we retire (about 20 years out from now). Now that we've driven across the country, we've seen some very nice and some not so nice places to live. It's hard to find that perfect place (does it exist?). There are always positives and negatives to wherever you choose to land. I guess it's all a matter of perspective...the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Hmmmm...I like that!! Let's see...we could have Berlinetta Drive, Camaro Avenue, Formula Circle, Firehawk Road, WS6 Way....hee hee! I agree with it having a water front or a LARGE lake for some boating and fishing and lots of trees! Time to start looking!!
