Well, I know I haven't been around much. I was working hard and lots of hours. It did not pay off. As of today I am unemployed once again. I did have a job interview two weeks ago and was one of 3 from 150 so I am hoping!! That is the NFB
For the FB - Anyone change a rear wheel stud? Do you really have to take out the rear axle? Can I take apart the emergency brake and have enough room to replace the stud?
THe car is apart in the garage so any help would be appreciated quick.

The shop manual was useless. I figured it out. Just take off the emegency brake pads, it give you enough room to work the studs in. I replaced all 5. Funny how the get corroded when I haven't even driven the car!

Now, as far as the Camaro goes, you've only driven the dang thing like 1600 miles in the last two years and yer afraid to take it to a show only a couple miles up the road because of a broken stud and not having time to detail the car. How dirty could it be parked all that time????

No, I didn't get a trophy. The show was really dragging on and I left before it ended. It was alot of fun and that Ferrari F40 was absolutely fabulous. This crowd caters to the 50's era cars and as I know you recall, all the newer models were completely shut out the last time we were all there together. I went anyway because it was an excuse to hang out and be around some cool cars. Dave's SS looks prettier every time I see it. I was really glad you stopped by. Really, it was too bad you couldn't have showed your car too. All we would have needed then was Jimmy Mongoose and we'd had a reunion !! Posted by 2002Z4CSS (Member # 1393) on :

As far as the wheel stud, you would probably have to take the rotor off to gain access. I would check my GM shop manuals for the correct answer, but I have no idea where they are as of yet. Still not unpacked from the move.

I used a hammer to get it released then I just worked it out.
I took the rotor off and thenthe emergency brake pads and I had JUUUSTTTT enough room to snake the stud out.
