Here is a used 2000 Interstate trailer I recently purchased. It was a good deal...too good to pass up compared to a brand new trailer. It was rear ended on both rear corners.The back bumper on the left side was pushed in about 6" and on the right side it was pulled out about 6". No structual damage at all. Just cosmetics. It was owned by a irrigation company that installed sprinkler systems and was full of mud and beat up. Even one of the 3/4 plywood floor sections had a huge hole in it from a trencher that was not secured properly. I removed the floor and installed a new 3/4" plywood floor. Relocated the "D" rings to work with a car. I replaced 2 side panels and the right fender. Yesterday I got all but 3 of the sides stripped of the lettering. Now I need some good looking wheels for it. Too bad the lug pattern is for a Ford or Mopar! I used it last weekend and trailered my SS to the OCC Nationals. Had I knew that gas was about $3 per gallon US, I would have not driven the Suburban, but driven the SS!

New...over $5,500 for a decent enclosed car trailer this size. I paid $2,300 from a trailer dealer on the other side of the State. That is the price of a decent open trailer. Anyone could replace the floors and walls on one of these. Everything is just screwed in place. It has 7000lb Torsion axles, easy-lube hubs, 4 wheel drum electric brakes, trailer break away box, 2 roof vents,front stone gard and 2 12v dome lights. The side beams are 16" on center. Some trailers have 24" on center beams. I could use this for a few years and still sell it for what I paid for it. [Smile]

I have some 12v flourescent lights I want to install and will checker the ramp door too. I may add some polished aluminum diamond plate to dress it up a bit. I may get an electric wench too. Nice at shows when the weather gets bad. At least it is roomy. [Smile]

THX! It really looks great! Now all you need to do is get diff hubs and put on a set of SS wheels, painted ones are cheap on the net thease days...

At least you have your priorities right. Work on the trailer comes first....work on the new house comes second. Just kidding Greg! Now you can get your SS down the dirt road without getting it dirty at least! Your repair work looks awesome. I really like the flooring in that thing.

Greg, that was a smokin' deal and it doesn't look like it took that much to fix it... that was a good buy. Your right open trailers go for what you paid... I really want that all allumnium featherlite open trailer but its a bit pricey....

Any trailer/RV store will sell some special cleaner to get rid of the black marks. Too pricey for me though! I used Westley's white wall cleaner was used to give that trailer it's very 1st wash. I also used a telescoping soft brush that I use to wash the roof of the Suburban or the windows of the house. Last night I finished removing the rest of the decals and got out the buffer to polish the aluminum diamond plate stone gard and the aluminum fenders. The look like chrome now and I did not use aluminum polish. Too bad I now need a new foam polishing pad because it is black from removing all of the oxidation. I will buff out the sides and give it a good wax job then it should not get the black streaks very easy. [Smile]

I can't wait to get some Camaro decals made up and hang some posters inside of the trailer. Nice rims will be down the road. [Smile]

Actually, since it is now car show season, I needed to get the trailer ready to use for my son's 1979 Berlinetta that is not too hi way friendly with that LS6 454. My SS has also got its share of rock chips from always being driven to out of town shows. I did not have a place to store a trailer at my old house and now that I have room and the Suburban, I felt it was a good time to get a trailer. That flooring in this trailer is cheap 12"X 12" tiles from Home Depot. They were $0.29 each! I figure it they did not work out,Then I would epoxy coat the floor. [Smile]
