I'm very happy today. We had a club dyno day with a local engine shop. Last year my rwhp number and tq was 257hp and 297tq. This year much better. Here is my stock run
Just the tune-up of plugs alone was almost 10rwhp gain. And the torque is much better @ 311.0 ft/lbs But wait....I have a power tuned PCM From madz28.com and swapped it in for another pull.!
Another 11hp gain! only 3ft/lbs of tq but the response curve smoothed right out and I'm now up to 277rwhp! YEEESSSSSSSS! That computer really rocks. We even tried it another LT1 car and got 12hp gain! We had a fun day. Dynoed 16 cars in total! Posted by SSHEETS (Member # 1989) on :
Cool I've been playing with my tune in my 02 SS via Diable Sport preditor. Haven't re-dynoed yet, but it does feel and sound stronger. Posted by Mike2001SS (Member # 2088) on :

We had fun playing around with this computer I had bought for the LT1 cars. Its a pretuned OBD1 computer. We actually lost power on a fellow's 95 T/A and another 96 Camaro gained 12hp. Its great when you have a bunch of people who can gettogether with different cars and have a big day. My car does not put up stellar numbers like an LS1 but its still a lot faster then modded 3rd generation cars. I'll notice even better power if I ever get headers and hi flow cats for it. But for now, I luv it! She is running well.

Congtrats on getting a lot of extra power out of the car with relatively few dollars! That's a lot of the fun as well! Methinks you might have just crossed over that "line" in the never ending quest for for more power... Who said that "you never have enough power until you can spin the tires in top gear at tope speed?"
Best regardSS,
Elie

Yeah, that's a big problem when the first 15-25 HP can be attained so inexpensively with a couple of simple bolt-ons... the HP jumps after that first (addicting ) experience are incrementally more expensive!

Thanks Elie. I would like to see a bit over 300RWHP and then leave it there. Its not worth modding up this car as it could be a nice collector piece. The challenge is what to do and to do it right so that the car will not scare off future owners should I have to sell it. I think anymore then 300 will deter the value of the car. I have a delicate balancing act here. Posted by 2002Z4CSS (Member # 1393) on :
