Any of you have experience with them ?
And how about this one? http://www.blinderxtreme.com/

Can you post your experiences [Smile]

The idea seems sound, but would like to hear some feedback

They seem pricey though

I have one and tested it on one of those road
side speed signs. It did not register my speed,
it just showed blank.

I figured that they must work or else they would
not be illegal in some states. The one that I
bought will pay your ticket if your caught in
a speed trap while using it. There are limits
of course!

been doing some digging

VASCAR is on its way back! - almost no defense for vascar [Frown]

The systems seem pricey, and I could pay 5 speeding tickets with the same amount.

I like the idea ... just too pricey right now

Just my two cents.....I'm a trooper with the Michigan State Police and the lazer units we have bounce a lazer beam approximately 70 times per second or trigger pull off the front of your car. All we do is put the red dot on your front plate or grill and bang....gives your speed and distance in feet from the end of the gun to your car. Accurate within inches. Don't buy that stuff and waste your money. You can beat the old radar systems which are not vehicle specific but the lazer's are vehicle specific and work whether your coming towards us or away from us.
Me and my partner, who has a 2001 Red Fire Hawk, have been known to have alittle fun leaving work at 6:00am on a Sunday morning, hitting south bound I-75 coming out of Detroit. Like they say, people who work for a pencil factory get free pencils. Police officers get....

Have a good day.

I think we all understand the principle behind 'lazer' speed detection (I always thought it was 'laser', but I'm not in LE), but the other factor is that what RIR is asking about is not DETECTION, its about JAMMING. When your 'lazer' gun flashes, what he's looking at sends back a false signal, confusing the gun and (according to the manufacturer and testing, anyway) resulting in no speed being displayed.

He's just asking if its worth the $$$...FWIW, I think the physics behind it is sound, even if the principle isn't. Radar detection and smart driving are the way to avoid donating to the local treasury...

SS - Fury I like your quote by Geore Orwell [Cool]

It would be interesting too see someone who swears by the jamming system go up against any test you could think of... I honestly feel the test the manufacturers of the laser Jammers are inheritly biased... have you ever ran across, or anyone one you know of, had actual encounters with laser detectors... it seems few people have them and all that I can find is that they are great ... I'd sure like to hear the -'s ... Like I said , it's cheaper to pay the tick and ins hikes than the laser jammers cost [Big Grin]

Well it also pays that you are alllowed 1 get out of a ticket free ever 3 years her in RI as welll... all you do is write them a letter requesting to drop the ticket and court costs and the ticket is thrown out [Smile] ... good new for me as I have not had to use it yet .. the roads are too crappy to even think of speeding [Eek!]

I have only seen the stat troopers use laser only once and it was officers with bikes on Rte 4 ... but laser seems to be slowly creeping in..thus why I want to find out if laser Jammers work, or a high priced crap shoot [Smile]

Laser detectors i.e. my Valentine One do work,
however, if it's your car that's targeted by
the time your detector goes off - too late!

If you receive a "stray" signal from the gun
being aimed elsewhere you will get a warning.

I use it mostly for entertainment on long
highway trips. My cruising speed of 80 MPH
on the 70 MPH interstates usually doesn't attract
LE officers.

Those laser jammers still won't work against photon torpedoes.

But, I must insist, that they DO protect you from phasers...at least when they're set on stun.

I'll type slower and more accurate for Mr. Tweetybyrdman. I understand he's talking about jamming vs. detection. All I'm saying is that the "laser" we use seems to be unaffected by the jammers. I've had people who have had these devices and the "laser" has worked just fine. In my opinion, I would not buy one. But to each his own, it's just my opinion. As Mr. Tweetybyrdman said, yes I'm in an LE and my partner on midnights drives a 2001 Firehawk. We stop lots of F-bodies, but all we want to know is whats under the hood, not how fast you were going.

Gee, what a great post. First off, I didn't try to belittle you...I didn't have to. Secondly, I'm beginning to question your credentials, as most folks understand that the reference to "LE" was for Law Enforcement...I don't really care what you drive...I just thought you were confused between detection and jamming. Apparently, you're confused about many things. But I'm not going to ruffle feathers here.

RIR knows what I'm talking about, and I'm sure your opinion will be weighed, too.

Well in your first post to this thread, one of the first things you do is to start correcting people's grammer. Whats that got to do with the topic of the post. This has been a very nice board, one of only two I try and keep up with. Everyone is very tolerant of opinions that are expressed to include grammatical errors. That's what makes this a very nice board with nice members. As for LE, we don't use that term. As far as questioning my credentials, don't. I'd like to invite you up to Detroit and work a 10 hour shift in the city with me and then see who's feathers get ruffled.
