Max Power - 336.3 @ 5700
Max Tourque - 339.2 @ 4800

That is at the real wheels on a Mustang Dyno.
82 Degrees and High Barometric Pressure. What
does that mean at the crank?

I was watching and on one run it hit 345 hp, but
he did not save that run. The tuner was pleased.
Said most stock 98's come in around 290 at the wheels - so my mods are worth about 40hp.

Very nice place to deal with - Automotive
Performance Engineering. Thanks!

That seems like pretty good numbers to me for your mods. My 1999 Z28 made 281 RWHP and 300 torque bone stock at around 3,000 miles. My stock 2002 SS made 301 RWHP and 323 Torque at 3,400 miles. My guess is that 290 RWHP would be about right for a 1998 stock SS. [Smile]

If memory serves me right, there's about a 12 to 18% loss from the crank to the rear wheels. 12% for manuals & 18 for automatics. If that's the case, you should be around 380 HP at the engine. [Cool]

Nice numbers Brian! I think the Mustang dynos tend to give lower numbers than the Dynojets so that's even better! It must also be nice to know that the car is tuned to maximize the performance. When I dynoed mine, I kept wondering what it would do if we could tweak it a little.

Good numbers Brian, probably higher on a Dynojet

Congrats on those numbers, Brian! I would think as well a dynojet might yield higher numbers. My '98 dyno'ed 314 RWHP and 336 RWTQ at SLP's dynojet in Montreal with a lid, ported MAF, and the SLP dual-dual. I have subsequently heard that SLP's dyno there is "optimistic".
Did you happen to ask him about the torque management? I found out only on Sat. that the tables ARE there to play with on a 6MN and it is applicable. I am told that timing is definitely taken out on high RPM upshifts by the PCM to minimize the stress on the drivetrain.
In any event,it looks like your mods are definitely adding to the enjoyment quotient of your car!.
BTW, I've been driving around now for a while with the carbon fibre synchros and stainless 3-4 shift fork you brought up for me a couple of weeks ago and the difference is very noticeable. This car has never been this easy to shift fast! Thanks again, man! [Cool]

Best regardSS,

Elie

I talked to the tuner about the tourque management on a 6 speed, and he claims there is
no benefit. It is a direct connection between the engine and tranny and that the tables only
effect autos! He has removed it for autos before and some guys have damaged their trannies. Kinda
makes you wonder who to believe sometimes!

Anytime you need anything else shipped to the
U.S. just let me know. Happy to help!

Great job Brian. I think a cam down the road will really put even more pep into it with the mods you already have in place. You have got a good groundwork for that going.

Nice numbers Brian. Mine with SLP 345 option and headers was 338/rwhp with dyno tune. My Rapid Stage II cam bumped it up to 383/rwhp and 380/rwtq.It should sound pretty good.See you Friday.

Hey Ralph, I want to hear your car for sure!

Cam is definitely on my consider list. I'd
love to get your reaction and the driveability
factor of your car with the cam. Safe trip.

With the 6M, divide the RWHP and RWTQ by 0.85, that will give you the base HP and TQ at the flywheel.

Nice indeed! Mine threw down 332rwhp and 344rwt when dyno'ed last week with recent mods. Will be doing most of my future mods next week, except heads, cam and pulley. Hopefully will get to those before end of summer. Guess the dreaded auto sucks a little out of it on the dyno. Either that or they are giving me a very mild tune... [Roll Eyes]
