Went to a car show cruise night saw a 1970 Hemi-Cuda plum crazy in perfect condition. The owner told me it's a driver worth about 125K, I told him that he should just store it. His reply "I bought this car in 1976 for 2K and have driven it in the nice weather only, and the young people of today need to see and hear this type of car" When i have attended car shows many cars are "Trailer queens", for show only here was an irreplacable car worth huge money that is driven. Like are camaros these type of cars are to be driven and showed that is why i enjoy driving my Camaro so much!

I hear ya. I drive my Hawk cuz that is why I bought it. Sure I will never beat the hell out of it like I did to machines of my youth. But I bought a machine to enjoy. I just can not justify a museum piece. If I could afford a collection of auto's I would drive them.

You don't live forever, some of us get old...

I've always thought that way too. You hear of people with a warehouse full of old cars that never get driven. What's the fun of that? Sure they're nice to look at, but eventually you'd get tired of looking at something you'll never drive and nobody else will ever look at. At least drive them to shows! I'd take turn driving all the cars I had on the sunny weekend days if I could afford a nice collection.

Reminds me of Jay Leno...a true car guy. He enjoys his car (or at least drives them for television shows!).
