Well the 1st day in 3 weeks I've had socks on and it "Sucks"..........Getting up this morning was hard as He** an the time difference (6 hrs) makes you realize what Jet lag is like.

The Big Island was great Kona and Hilo are fantastic. If you ever have the chance DON'T forget the helecopter ride. Alec had to mention the one that crashed the day before to the wife but all went well.

Kauai was more than I could imagine. Small but a lot packed into the island. Surfing lessons and the Luau are something not to miss. Great waterfalls and a lot of TV and movies were made on the island. Jurassic Park and Fantasy Island to name a few.

Oahu "ALOT" of people. Waikiki nice place and seeing it at night was something that cant be put into words. Kims uncle (Lets friend) had us up to his place in the mountains to see the town at night after a family gathering of about 30 (Yes thats right 30 people).

Let,Alec and I had a great time with Kim as a fantastic guide. Kim grew up on the island and showed us places that the general tourist would not get to see.

The seafood and Simin were all a great change. A few places that we went onto I would have had second thoughts on going into to eat. BUT they had some of the best food that we had tasted.

For a 12 year old that didnt want to go Alec had a fantastic time. The only real complaint from him was when Let and I decided to give up our seats from Min/St Paul to Detroit for a $200 voucher each. It was only an extra hour wait .

If you ever have the chance it is a place you never will forget. Expensive but well worth it.The mustang rental wasn't bad I think it has more pick up than the wifes SS Impala .

Awesome! [Big Grin] Been to six of the islands myself. Have a G/F that lives on Oahu and we always island jump when I visit. Loved Kona, did you eat at the Kona Inn? Fantastic calamari sandwich there... [Wink] Molikai is very hot, Kauai is very humid, Maui is pleasant, and if you can get to the other side of Oahu it's pretty there too. Think the other island was Lanai I was at? [Confused] Mountain drives are spectacular, so get off the shores when you can. [Big Grin]

The best way to see the islands! Go with the locals that know all the neat off the beaten path stuff, instead of where to bleed your wallet dry! [Wink]

Kim tried to show us the likeness of the Queen in the mountains I just could not see it at all. Did see Prince William's likeness in the rocks(cave). Kim said the legend goes that the Queen cought the prince with an ice cream and said "Now Willie,Willie" and thats how the town was named.

Right by there we went to the Luau at the old plantation. Great food OPEN BAR [Big Grin] and a Fantastic Show.
