I need some help from my convertible brethren. I have waisted enough time trying to decide on my own which cat back to install.
This is what I would like in no particular order. A deep muscular tone with no drone. I want to be able to carry on a conversation at freeway speed in 5th gear. Improved horse power and torque. I suppose the only thing I do not want is to be heard approaching from two blocks away.
When I was a teenager the louder the better! Open headers baby!!! Looks like my interests have changed.

Wayne, well....I have always loved the deep tone Borla puts out. I have heard many exhaust systems, but I always go back to Borla. The nice thing is is that you can always change the sound of the Borla. Plus, there is a neat little device out there that can change your plates for you with just a hit of a switch. It's an electronic device that installs where you change your plates and you wire a switch in your console. If it's too loud...just hit your electrical switch and away you go. What have you got now. Base SS or Y2Y dual dual, and what do you want cosmetically?

Thanks guys! Right now the car has the standard SS exhaust. Another thing I have conidered is just adding a different muffler and the McCord Power Cutout. I have heard good things about Magnaflow mufflers. It is my understanding that the standard SS exhaust has a 3" intermediate pipe with 2 3/4" tailpipes. Isn't that what most of the cat backs have? Cosmetically speaking the only item I would care about is the tips. I like the optional tips on the GMMG exhaust. They are on the cars they do like the Berger. Similar to the tips on the 69 Chevelle SS-396 I once had.

Wayne - I have the GMMG chamberred exhaust. I absolutely love it. It's got a great sound (like an old Steve McQueen movie) and it quiets down real nice at highway speeds. If you want to hear a sample of it, check out the video's called Doug's Burnouts at the following link. http://another.dimension.net/efa/
P.S., to view these you might have to download the new version of Windows Media Player depending on which version you have...
