I just purchased a triple white RA convertible WS6 with 30k on it. I have the following questions.
Is it a known/common problem on a 98 LS1 for the coolant light to come on and off?

How much horsepower does a 98 LS1 RA have stock? 325?

What will a 98 RA Convertible run in the 1/4 stock?

Is there a huge differance in performance between the FTRA and just doing the Free Ram Air mod? After you do that mod, it looks like you would want to block off the ram air scoops from the hood because of the turbulance that will be caused by the head on air hitting the air coming straight up from the bottom? No?

What should I use on the convertible top, sponge? What type of cleaner/protectant?

What is the best launch rpm/techniqe to launching a 98 LS1 RA vert with stock tires?

Is it true, that the 98 LS1 RA vert only had one exhaust pipe on driver side?

What rear end gear ratio does it have? It is an auto with traction control. There is no sticker in the glove box.

What would the MSRP have been on a fully loaded 98 RA vert with all options except disk changer? 36K? Is there somewhere I can find out?

After you do the throttle body coolant bypass mod, do you really have to cap the ends on the throttle body housing? Seems to me like it is unnecessary.

Can you stick a 160 thermostat in the car without reprogramming it? Will it help?

Thanks in advance.

Cool Ride ... lotsu questions ...

I'll give a couple my best shot ...

Coolant light shouldn't come on

320 HP

14ish ... depending on the driver

FTRA is ducted down to the air deflector & comes with a seal for the air box ... check with Fast Toys if it fills the larger air box opening

1 on the left ... same as the base 98 SS ... probably correct ..

only a guess 3.23

Have heard the bypass mod is a waste of time

You need to reprogram the fans to work with a 160 stat ... HPP does it, SLP also has some options.

Wow she's a beauty! You might be able to get some of the build info from a dealer using the VIN number. Hopefully some of our Pontiac brethren will have the '98 RPO codes.

I really like that White3 (cubed) look.

I especially like the white inserts on your door panels. The Camaro should have been equipped that way. We've aquired a second set of door panels and the last of the bolt of white vinyl from GM's supplier (well, that's what the supplier told us) to change the gray inserts to white.

I also have a company working on reproducing the shift boot in white.

Sweet ride, man! Exactly the OPPOSITE of mine (BLACK^3). I'll attempt to answer your questions:

The coolant light problem is not un-common (shouldn't do it, faulty sensor in the radiator on the pass. side). I think there is a TSB on it, warranty should cover a new one, some issue w/ compatibility w/ the Dex-Cool.

All '98 WS6 & SS are 320HP (unless you got an optional SLP exhaust on an SS).

I just ran a 13.83@ 107.0 on my g-tech the other night (first night I tried, 1/2tank and heavy sub-box over the wheels). The best I've seen posted is a 13.2 @ 105.x by Billie Webb on his bone stock '98 WS6 ragtop.

I use a sponge on my top, keep terry cloths away to prevent fuzz (although your white top is more like vinyl than the canvas like my black top, might be less likely to get fuzz stuck to it). There's a thread on here about cleaner / protectant.

1700 - 2000RPM clutch drop works pretty good for me (still trying to perfect my launch), don't know about an A4.

All '98 SS/WS6s had single, driver side 3" exhaust tip stock (unless SLP offered an option on SSs, don't know about what that would look like). GM must have caught alot of flack on that since they went to duals on '99+.

All A4 SS/WS6 had 3.23 rears. The glove box sticker w/ the build codes you are looking for is on the driver's door. Take a close-up picture of that sticker before someone crashes into your door and screws it up, that's a really dumb place to put something that important.

My car stickered at $34,440, all options including CD changer. I think the changer was $450, so subtract that for your car.

Based on my own personal experience:
My 98 dynoed 304 RWHP/321 Torque and
ran 13.254/106/2.001 in show-room stock condition.

What is the best launch rpm/techniqe to launching a 98 LS1 RA vert with stock tires?
A good launch with M-6 requires a clutch penalty(big time!) Our clutches are better suited for dodge neon's rather than a muscle car.

Is it true, that the 98 LS1 RA vert only had one exhaust pipe on driver side?
Yep! One exhaust pipe is true, and it was more efficient than my flowmaster catbacks.

What rear end gear ratio does it have? It is an auto with traction control. There is no sticker in the glove box.
It has either 2.76 or 3.23

What would the MSRP have been on a fully loaded 98 RA vert with all options except disk changer? 36K? Is there somewhere I can find out?
98 stickered at 3745o
01 stickered ate 36500

After you do the throttle body coolant bypass mod, do you really have to cap the ends on the throttle body housing? Seems to me like it is unnecessary.
Haven't done that mod yet

Can you stick a 160 thermostat in the car without reprogramming it? Will it help?
Wont help much, but the 160 will not hurt any either.
