I posted this on LS1.com a few months ago, but I can't find any stuff on there more than a month or so old...
Over two years, two summers, and lots of topless days my top was getting slooow. Even after a battery change to a red top Optima the top was still slow. I mean over 30 seconds to get it up.
I found a quick fix. Open the trunk and open the valve that allows you to raise/lower the top manually. Raise and lower the top one time by hand. (you may need a helper on the other side of the car.) Then close the valve and try it with power.
Just doing this gave my top back its "oomph" that it had lost. I'm guessing that somehow more of the fluid got over to one side, causing one side to try to do all the work.
Happy motoring!

Great info Richard! Glad you made it here. The power antenna is still working great, been on since December. Posted by HTWLSS (Member # 117) on :
Thanks for that info.....it might make a good tip for the SSOA FAQ's or technical section.

top notch.. i did this many times on the older ragtops..when you open and close w/ out power, open the valve... its the same as bleeding brakes..all pressure must be the same. great info for all ragtop owners..jk
