I just priced the plastic boot for my new (to me) 96 Z28 from the dealer. 377.00 for the center section alone. Any ideas???

Also, I have the M6, and I noticed recently the clutch pedal seems to vibrate. This may be a juvenile question, but thought I'd ask, is this normal? Not sided to side, but up and down, while at idle or anytime you go to push it in while driving, as your foot makes contact with the pedal just before you begin pushing, you can feel it quivering up and down.

Thanks.

WOW! That is terrible what they are charging for the boot....

If you don't need the backseats while the top is down....then I'd spend the money and get Tonneau Covers.

I am trying to find a company who will make a paint to match fireglass unit that emulates the look of the three piece stock unit. I also dont want to cover the back seats. It would really make the top section look killer. Very similar to the way the vette looks. I dont like the tanneau, it looks like the batmobile. If i wrangle a supplier i'll post back.

Check the used part sector, probably a bit of chore but I bet you'll find a set.

Clutch pedal sounds like the beginiing of a throught bearing problem. BTW the return spring should keep the pedal off the bearing, sounds like it's gone (a common problem).

Return spring is gone? Is this a simple replacement? And I imagine if T/O is on the way, might as well put a whole clutch in...

Yes, simple replacement, check under the dash, there should be a spring on the pedal, if not, pick one up drom the dealer and just hook it in.

You will want to replace the whole assembly once it's time to replace any of the clutch parts.

I've seen really good looking OEM boots go for 50 bucks on eBay.
Good luck,
Gabe
