I've asked on a number of boards and have not received much consistent advise.

Is it worth putting sound deadening in a convertible - I noticed that Steve in Seattle just added it to his signiture as an upcoming mod and that has me thinking about it again.

the stuff is fairly pricy and as we drive mainly with top down does it really make sence to spend a few hundrend $$ on deadening?

I thinke it really depends on how much it bothers you. If you listen to the stereo alot, it may bother you, if you listen to the engine and exhaust alot like me, it doesn't bother me.

Well as the advice was slightly in favour of sound proofing - I decided to get some "brown bread" - I'll report if it made any difference.

I'm hoping that at a minimum it will reduce the fuel pumps whine.

Yeah, I have two 70 foot rolls of Brown Bread waiting to do a "double coat" of my vert.

Only thing is, its defiently "tar" like and would burn pretty good if I did any welding (like adding a 6-pt roll bar ).

Although I have the SFC's welded in now, I'm still gonna have to hold off on deadening the car until I get the 6-pt roll bar installed.

I gotta find some way to add A LOT of bass to the stereo as well. Maybe Johnny B's Sub bar with 4 8" subs? Maybe just 3 8" and an amp vented to the trunk. I can't imagine losing my spare tire/jack in a daily driver. (no stealth box here).

hmmm....

opps, sorry,... here's the sub-bar I'm considering:

a pretty good solution for us vert guys who don't have "stealth boxes" exposed to the cabin area (like the hatch-back guys get).

Did you guys that have a Johhny B sub box see pretty good improvement in quality? I have 2 10" MTX subs in my trunk right now, and it rattle bad on the outside, my trunk seems as if it is going to fall off. What can I do to make that sound as best as possible? Also, with the top down, I cant hear a thing from my subs, but they hit pretyt hard with the top up? How does johhnys box sound with top down? How is rattle? Im considering 4 subs in your box Johhny...

Matt,

I see you're in Michigan. If you are ever down to NE Indiana, look me up (Ft. Wayne) and I'll give you a demo.
