Has anybody tried to get warranty work on their tops? I have 33,700 on the car. My dealer is trying to say it's not covered. I take it they consider this "normal wear items" like the brakes. To me that's BS. My car is still in the shop so I can't check the owners manual. Any help would be appreciated. Posted by poSSum (Member # 119) on :
I'd say it's a normal wear item like the seats, covered by 3 year 36,000 mile warranty but not by extended warrantees. I've had both repaired under warranty. The side of the drivers seat bottom cracked, and the strap that holds the roof to the framework wore through.
Take it up a notch and get your dispute on record BEFORE the warranty expires.

I have had some warranty work done on my top. And I am getting ready to have soem more done. My car was delivered with the passenger side window closed on the top. So it has a worn spot. I am going to go get that fixed soon.
I think if you read in your warranty book it does not mention the top as a normal wear part.

seats are covered under a lesser warranty- I think it might be 12 months 12000 miles, but I do know they won;t touch them if you are apporaching 35,000 miles (seats).
I need to ask about the top just for future reference, will post once i find out
