does everybody have? The stainless steel setups are a bit high for me right now, but the stock is lame. All comments are welcome. I want louder, but don't want to be heard 2 blocks away.
Thanks.

Try the SLP Dual Dual system. Seems like most people feel that it makes a bit more sound than a stock muffler and a lot quieter than most.

SLP Dual/Dual is exactly right for me. I used to think more was better (25 years ago!) but it has enough rumble to announce yourself without inducing a headache on a long trip. Really pleasant to live with all-round system. My .02 worth...

I just had a cut-out installed and am waiting for a Power Plate.
In the meantime, I capped it but have a washer behind one of the screws. It's actually noticeably louder than my stock SS exhaust.
If you don't have the funds just get a cut-out and do what I did. Then when you go to the track, uncap it!

I have the Loudmouth. When I first put it on, I had a grin on my face for the first two weeks I was driving it. I'm 24, so right now for me, loud is good. There's really only two things I don't like about it. The first is the drone that occurs from 1800-2100 rpm. But since I have an M6, this is very controllable. The only time it bothers me is when I have to drive very long trips, like when I went from LA to SF. Driving at 80 in sixth puts the rpms right in that range. But, even the trips from San Diego to LA aren't too bad for me.
The only other thing I'm not too fond of are the tips, but those are easily (and rather cheaply) fixed, I just haven't gotten around to changing them.
To me, I like the Corsa, and I like the Borla, and the Braxton. But I honestly liked the sound of the LM the best, and at half the price, I couldn't see anything else fitting my tastes better.

For what its worth, I would take a bank loan if I were you to get the GMMG Chambered System. By far it is superior to everything that I have heard and seen. Worth every darn penny you put into it, and besides, you can always sell for what you paid for it. The system made from 304 Stainless, polish's up like aircraft leading edges, really looks great from under the car. Trust me, this is a great product, if its good enought for Berger, Earnhardt, Carl Black and Tom Henry, then is mighty fine with me.

I always liked the SLP 2otl even with the T/A's rear end. I'm using JBA headers, stock cats, the 2otl and the noise level is right where I like it (this from an aging 30 year-old).

I'm undecided on that one myself; loudmouth too loud, dual dual too quiet? (although the new version is supposed to be just a bit louder), flowmasters sound good but the gains are as good as others....

I love my Borlas, but they're expensive...

I love my Loudmouth. I had never heard a Loudmouth before I bought mine so I was a little skeptical about it being too loud. I had the muffler shop do a real clean removal in case I wanted the dual dual put back on. But I loved it the first time I fired the car up and love it more and more. It always puts a grin on my face when I roar down the street. It is defintely louder than stock but not horribly loud...mine's a daily driver.

I also love my Borla, I installed an electric adjustable plate so I can change the sound of the exhaust with a push of a button. Handy whan getting pulled over, push the button and your just a bit louder than stock.

The older you get - the more expensive the toys

Personally the best sounding to me is the Corsa, it's just too damn expensive, someone needs to just sell the muffler Please !!!

BPS

Can you share more about the Borla plate idea? I have the Borla but with the FLP's and the blower I run it with the block plate because it is too loud around the neighbourhood.

Any pics?

Check it out here - was cheaper when I bought it a few years ago. But it works well - go from fully closed to fully open in about 5 seconds

OH MAN do I want that. EXTREMLY COOL. I'm going to see if he can do a adjustable version. Like a 2 stage kit. 20% and 100% open.

It's fully adjustable - not just open or closed. The moment you release the switch the valve stops moving so you tune your exhaust exactly the way you want it.

I ordered one

I've got the SLP LM and I love it. At first you're like wow this is loud, and sounds great. But after awhile it doesn't seen so loud anymore. Except in the morning when you first start driving. I also don't get any drone. Top up, top down, going 50mph or 100mph, no drone.

I think I'm down to two final choices, GMMG - sounds good and it's the only one that is not unbalanced when viewed from the rear - which drives me nuts, or SLP dual dual 'cause if I'm going to have unbalanced, it may as well be a system tested and approved by SLP.

I have the SLP 2L/2R system. I LOVE it on mt LT1, not sure how it would sound with an LS1. But I know I LOVE the deep tone of the muffler. It rattles the metal cover on the top of my dashboard when slowing down. Its not too loud, but its nice and deep. Perfect for my taste. Loudmoth is a little obnoxious for me, but it's sound is nice... just real loud. Its a very popular system for our cars, and one of the best flows out there.

Borlas is another great choice, but it IS pricey. I don't particularily believe in Borla. WAY overpriced, and I loathe the tips. I know most of the price you pay is for the adjustability of the system- but lets be honest with ourselves- we probaby won't be under there changing the plates out all the time, unless your car is a track queen. I know I would get the right amount of plates on there to sound perfect, and probably leave it that way- Thus, wasting money on the adjustability option. I know several people who haven't touched theirs since the install.

Hooker makes a decent system too. I like the sound of those, and its a bit cheaper than most.

My .02 cents

-George

I bought the LM due to the cost factor. Then added this disc on right side only.puts just enough back pressure to stop most of the popping and cuts down the highway drone.one small 3/16 hole in the bottom of right tip and can be removed with screwdriver when I want to be louder.the disc goes way in only half way in picture.would love to have center mount set up but cant get the darn money tree to grow.
