Just installed MacEwen white face gauges and bezel. The instructions were a little lean from MacEwen, but that shop manual really helps especially when you are use to working on 60's & 70's cars and trucks. Also hard wired the Valintine 1 dector in, and now all the wiring is hidden. Next will be the power antenna. Got the car on Dec.7th and racked up 1200 miles so far and put the top down for the first time today. Nice weather in west Texas today. Their is no connector in the truck for the power antenna. That spare tire is fun. Oh, painted the undercarrage with that EFR or is it ERF. That rust inhibitor works great. All the rusty stuff is now black. Working on the bottom of the car is hard on a ole fart like me. I love this car but I am not use to working so close to the ground on cars. Just getting a jack under the Bilstein suspension is a pain. Have to drive it up on 2x4's to get high enough for a jack. I am thinking of putting SLP Long Tube Headers. I am worried about how low the car is with the Bilstein suspension and also how the headers will affect the wiring around the header areas. Anybody recently put on a set of SLP LTH's?

Hola fellow old fart! Sounds like you've been having some fun. Go to Wal-Mart and get some Rhino Ramps. Our cars will drive up on them. Great for oil changes, etc. Don't know about the headers. Good luck!

I've heard that the some LT headers do have serious clearance problems on a lowered car - so be cautious and ask around on a couple of the boards.

Just doing a power ant in my 2kZ- I also have
a 98 Riv- ordered the ant and rubber bezel for
the riv- much cleaner looking than the firebird
ant setup (if thats what you're thinking of using)
The ant top sets below the level of the fender-
almost looks frenched (I am also a geezr). Had to
make the hole just a bit larger- email if you have
questions. geneuselman@earthlink.net
PS- I drove to So. Tex a month ago so that I could
drop the top on my car- just bought it on ebay

Got the power antenna in the night of the big blow from the north, here in West Texas we call them blue northerns. Put a swith in and everything worked better than I expected. Got some great instructions from the SLP site and it was real easy except for having to get up and down many times. This car is going to keep me young. Yesterday at 1200+ miles I took a little trip on a oilfield road way out of town that is very straight and smooth and went though the gears, only 3500 in 1st, 2nd up to 4 grand, third up to 4500, into forth and hit the 100 mph for the first time. My wife wanted to go faster and I said another time, want to get more miles on the engine. I think I will wait on the SLP LTH's sound like my Bilstein suspension is to low for them. I will shop around.
