I can tell you that my 6-point bar (not Wolfe, but that probably doesn't matter) did stiffen the car up quite a bit. If you didn't have subframe connectors, I'm sure it would *really* feel stiffer - it kind of depends what order you do the mods in, the first will feel like the best.
Also, it is quite noticeable when the door bars are out; it's not as stiff.
Keep in mind, you'll loose use of the back seats, if that matters to you.

I had my bar built by Dave Thornhill, who's on Monier Circle off South Sunrise. He's a local chassis builder, works on drag cars, etc. Very good, but as with anything custom, it was $$$. When I had it done, I don't think there was anyone making an "off the shelf" bar for the convertibles, so I had less choice. If the Wolfe bar meets your requirements, I bet it'll be half the cost of a custom bar. Thornhill might weld it in for you.
Edit: I realized I may not have answered your original question. I don't see how a rollbar with swingouts could be less stiff than the same bar with welded side bars, assuming the swingouts are installed.
